LAS VEGAS - O.J. Simpson, who went from American sports idol to celebrity-in-exile after he was acquitted of murder in 1995, was found guilty Friday of robbing two sports-memorabilia dealers at gunpoint in a Las Vegas hotel room.
Simpson, 61, could go to prison for life.
A weary and somber Simpson released a heavy sigh as the charges were read by the clerk in Clark County District Court. He was immediately taken into custody.
The Hall of Fame football star was convicted of kidnapping, armed robbery and 12 other charges for gathering up five men a year ago and storming into a room at a hotel-casino, where the group seized several game balls, plaques and photos. Prosecutors said two of the men with him were armed; one of them said Simpson asked him to bring a gun.
Simpson's co-defendant, Clarence "C.J." Stewart, 54, was also convicted on all charges.
The verdict came 13 years to the day after Simpson was cleared of murdering his ex-wife and a friend of hers in Los Angeles in one of the most sensational trials of the 20th century.

He is still pretty enough to be a hit in prison. It's still so sad that he got away with killing his wife and her friend. He is a murderer, plain and simple. He thought he could do anything since he got away with the murder.
I know he looks guilty.. has done reprehensible things but I am not convinced he did those murders.. if he did.. boy.. karma will get him. Evidently he did this though.
Okey dokey... if anyone knows of credible evidence that explains the lack of blood at his house I would like to hear it.
peace,
Isis
I've always thought it was his son Jason who committed the murders........
And a lot of others think so too........check out this link:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/O._J._Simpson_murder_case#Jason_Simpson_theory
he just had too much evidence against him this time....and no errors by the law enforcement authorities.............
O.J. was found guilty of murdering Nicole in civil court. In criminal court, a jury of his peers refused to find him guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. Courts do not rule on innocense.
But there is anothe court -- that of public opinion and it is as valid as civil or criminal court.
Simpson, as a player, made watching football fun. It is sad to see that life go this direction.
"But there is anothe court -- that of public opinion and it is as valid as civil or criminal court. " This is clearly one of the most untrue statements ever made. If public opinion is as valid as civil or criminal court, there would be no necessity for the two of them to exist.
Civil suits are nothing more than double jeopardy...plain and simply.
Funny, but, I don't remember seeing Ray at the O.J. trial...surely an eyewitness of the actual crime would be a star witness...maybe I missed it.
How many people thought it just HAD to be Jonbenet Ramsey's parents who had committed the crime, only to find out years later that there is absolute proof that they did not. And so tragically after the death of Jonbenet's mother.
And, in regards to his murder trial years ago. I was someone who believed him to be innocent. And, that's all I got to say.
you know the old saying, what goes around comes around... too bad it didn't happen sooner
i know karma takes over at some point but we shouldn't gloat!
You talk as if you believe that if one is found innocent of a crime it means he didn't commit the crime. Thats a pretty naive position of how justice in America works.
After he wrote that book, I was more convinced he was flauting the fact he got away, with murder. So with this case, I believe he finally got his just dues. Its a shame, he got freedom for 13 years, while the love ones of Nicole, and Ronald, had to endure, watching this man live a life of Riley. I so do feel for his children though. Its a shame, they had to live through the hell of having thier mother brutally killed, now watching thier father, go too prison.
I don't have ax to grind in this...if the court found him not guilty why would I insist that he is guilty. I wasn't there...that's why we have trials...otherwise it's pitchforks and lynch mobs. It's naive to believe that you know who is guilty and who is not guilty just because you don't like someone.
You can also be found guilty of the most outrageously ridiculous charges...kidnapping?
If you ever commit a crime we'll get you an all black jury...say, hello to your' peers.
Johnnie Cochran--dead
Robert Kardashian--dead
F Lee Bailey--disgraced and disbarred, probably wishing he was dead
Robert Shapiro--Son commits suicide
What are the odds?
As for is justice served? Well, while I personally think OJ was responsible for the original murders, I think this case speaks for itself. The murders have nothing to do with it. This is a ploy by the defense to explain the conviction. I really don't think a responsible juror is going to let this affect their decision. If you have ever served on a jury, you will suddenly realize how seriously you must take your responsibility. Without knowing the details about the jurors, I think it is somewhat insulting to assume they did this to 'get even'.
That said, I won't be losing any sleep over his conviction, since he was found to be responsible for the murders in civil court. Any one who says OJ is innocent, I think is just burying their head in the sand.
Question for OJ supporters:
Would you feel comfortable with OJ marrying your daughter? :-)
Just like the energizer bunny. We just keep going…

It's pretty crazy that he got away for something like that and now he's getting nailed for something like this...
