My Daily Rant ~ Can you PLEASE pull all the way over when using cell phone?

So, most of us are in agreement that it can be dangerous to drive while talking on a cell phone, especially when you don't have a hands free set. Got it.

Most of us then agree that if you receive a phone call, you should pull over to a safe place to take that call. Got that too.

Then why IN THE WORLD would someone stop in the middle of a two lane road that gets a decent amount of traffic to talk on their phone. Why could this person not pull over to the SIDE of the road?

Yep, she stopped in the middle of her lane (of course it had to be a woman). Three cars had to wait for other traffic to pass so we could get around her.

Some people are so amazing.

Well maybe it was like Charlie mentioned, or maybe not. All I know is I've almost been hit several times due to someone talking on the phone. I find it hard to believe those calls are all that important and enough to endanger the safety and very lives of others. I have a cell phone and if I'm driving, and someone calls, I let the voice mail get it. There is such a thing as calling back at a better time.

No, as I was going around her, she pulled the rest of the way off the road. If she broke down, one would think she would put her hazard lights on. :o)

Geesh........stupid cell phones! People should NOT drive and talk on the phones at the same time............they need to give 100% of their attention to driving........

That's dangerous! She could have caused a serious accident.
That's why most states have a law against using cells without a hands free set, while driving. She should have been arrested.

People should have to take a logic test both to get a cell phone and a drivers license

It is illegal here in CA. Since the 1st July. now texting is disallowed as well. After that horrific train crash that killed and injured so many here a few weeks ago, the engineer was texting 22 seconds before that head on collison with a freight train.

I have been in traffic where a woman and yes she was blonde and she had a cup of coffee she was juggling with one hand and driving it looked like with her elbow at times and her knees. She had a cell phone she was gabbing on and she would put the coffee down somewhere for a bit and was smoking. She also was trying to put on make up with the cigerette in her hand and eyeliner or pencil or something, I could see all this as I was a passenger in the car I was in. I don't know how she did this and could drive. Someone must have called 911 because it was not long she was pulled over. This was last spring. I think she had to be totally insane. Bet she got a good hefty fine too.

I doubt we will ever own one.
I know someone who had two, business/personal both going off and one time I begged to be let out of the moving car for he was juggling the two! No kidding!
Possibly a reason for the thought of not wanting one......

I hope the women got a juicy ticket!
