The annual Street Dance and Meatloaf Supper will take place Saturday, October 4, 2008 from 5-10 pm on Exchange Street in front of the Fitzgerald Theater. Come at 5:00 p.m. grab a seat on the street and listen to the live broadcast. A $5.00 meatloaf supper will be served at 6:00 p.m. Garrison and the rest of the gang will be out around 7 p.m. to sing, dance and entertain until about 10:00 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. If you're in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, show up, enjoy a real mainstreet dinner, and kick up your heels a bit. With contests like "Best Loon Call, Most Beautiful Baby, Seed Identification, Sweetest Singer (12 & under), and Best Dancer" it should be a lot of fun.
We'll discuss the actual show [according to the show site, "with special guests Old Crow Medicine Show, Maria Jette, The Guy's All-Star Shoe Band with additional Shoe Horns: Dale Mendenhall, Michael B. Nelson, and Steven Strand, and The Royal Academy of Radio Actors: Tim Russell, Sue Scott, and Tom Keith."] in this discussion too!

It is fun, Diana. I like to think of the "Best Loon Call" and "Best Dancer" as the "Best of the Public Radio Sort of Fun" but that's written with much affection!
"Hey Julia, I'm thinking of going to the street dance portion. I'm chuckling over here because in the "You might also like..." suggestions of articles to read that's in the upper right hand corner is the pantoum that I wrote a couple years ago when the Chatterbox Café was closed down; closed down on-line, at least.
