WHAT IS YOUR PREDICTION OF TONIGHTS VICE PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE?

I am looking forward to it that is for sure. I read an article on Yahoo yesterday about how people are underestimating Ms. Palin's debate skills. That despite her obvious ignorance to standard government policies she is a formidable adversary. I also read where they listed their examples of debating prowress. It was always when their were three people involved. She is also very apt at dodging the question. In my assesment of what these folks had written, even one individual who had debated the current Govenor, they seemed to imply she was good at manipulating the situation. That bothers me. I think America is tired of being manipulated. We want folks with straight answers. Now mind none of the candidates have really been able to do so because sometimes straight talk in politics is the wrong talk. Too many toes to be stepped upon but I think her glaring inability to answer general questions about basic government affairs is really going to hurt her despite helping her in previous debates. This isn't a debate within the state - this is national and no matter how charming you are charisma only goes so far.

Biden I think will be fine as long as he doesn't bring up any historical occurences as a matter of example. Who knows he might have us looking for video of Washington reading us the constituion after it was signed ;) Just kidding.

Overall I think they both will hold their ground but I don't have high expectations of Sarah Palin being very knowledgeable - unlike Barack Obama who is extremely intelligent and articulate and is the reason he is getting my vote this November.

This could end it if things go well tonight.

SHE may be O.k when talking about local politics, but I believe tonight she is out of her league. She has proved this in all her interviews. Republican can try to push all the facts in a few days they want, but she always gets them boggled and becomes confused when ask about anything to do with the national crisis or other vital issues plaguing this country. No one can in a week or two absorb all she is being daily feed, we will just have to wait and see, I guess! I think tonight the debate will be very interesting! I am sure the gender card will come into play... but the good thing is the Democrats were smart to agree on the terms of the debate, they will have no excuse if she bungles this time!

John , I believe you will be right, have you seen the polls Obama is leading in all the battleground states! Many people have realized this crisis will not stop here, and also realizes Obama will be the more concise and better man to handle these problems now plaguing our country, I believe he will work with the people and for the people!

I think this is the weirdest political matchup EVER.
That said, I have a feeling Palin will do surprisingly well; she has to. They've had EVERYBODY on this 24/7. They know that if they can't get her to perform adequately, the GOP can say Goodnight Gracie.

The Republicans and Sarah Palin have probably been trying to figure out some trick to take the focus off her unqualifications, and put it on her personality or some jokes or their "maverick" image. I don't think there is any trick she can pull, even if Joe Biden says something out of the ordinary, the Republican reallity is falling apart as more and more people start to wake up and not be swayed to go back to sleep and consume.

We are in debt 800 billion a year to China, 800 billion a year to oil producers, and now a bailout of 800 billion to bailout corrupt corporations who have more clout with our government than we do.

Looking at Republican's view, and plans, people realize they do not work. Do we need to have everyone in the country's retirement money in the stock market, when the stock market itself is being manipulated and our business outlook because of corrupt business practices.

We immediately need to deal with our loss of manufacturing and industry, and particulary energy policy. The Repubicans still are focused on oil, they have nothing to offer and Sarah Palin's sharp tongue and cute imported designer glasses will not change that.

I believe if she can hold herself above water, she will be doing good... this lady is clearly not qualified to be a heart beat away from the presidency. I believe the debate outcome will matter very little, because McCain has likely buried his chances to win the presidency with all the flip flop antics during his campaign.

I predict that there will be two dozen articles in here tomorrow saying Biden won it, and almost as many saying Palin won it.
It won't matter what happens tonight.... wanna' bet?

John, you're spot on about the articles, but ironically enough I think part of what is sinking the Republicans this cycle is the total lack of crebility and sincerity people are finally starting to see in them. While they were up and there was doubt, they could get away with the "blow off" like Reagan smiling and waving and saying "morning in America" ... well yeah maybe mourning.

And they want all of us to pony up 800 billion so they can remain in denial and keep waving from helicopters they don't deserve to be riding in. Whatever happens we hear the same divorced from reality blather from the GOP, always know what to do, always with the positive spin, and always acting confident, this is just marketing and acting, and people seem to be getting it now.

I hope it doesn't take 4-8 more years of decline.

The people are not stupid when watching this woman, anyone in their right mind can see she has no knowledge of current events or even if were put on training wheels, shows to be not a fast learner. When she was ask about the bailout bill, what a weak, incoherent answer. My seven year old daughter could have answered that question better! The spin is only In the name of some of these rich trying to protect their pocket books, they will do anything. Yet convincing themselves, that the rest of the people are so foolish they will fall for such political spun crap is simply stupid.

Some of their own party is now speaking out against this woman, saying she needs to step down! They refuse to vote for McCain or Palin because of this crisis, and continued to say, it would be frightening at the least thinking this unqualified woman would be a heart beat away from the presidency!

I think lots of people will be watching the debate. John is right half the board will say he won and the other half will say she has won.

Biden will mop the floor with Sarah Palin. I think after tonight everyone will realize exactly how empty and ridiculous her candidacy is.

Interest is high in this debate; more so than the presidential candidates' debate.

I know almost nothing about Joe Biden, but we've all been inundated with info - true and false - about Sarah Palin. Mrs. Palin is reputed to be a skilled debater. We'll know in a few minutes....

Obama- who maintained the composure of the leader and professional he is. The longer the debate went on for McCain, the smirk on his face and the blinking was almost more than I could stand.
