I am starting my own business next year, that is why I am going to school for business. My business instructor suggested to me to start working on my business now and not wait until I graduated (which would be in October of next year). So this is what I plan to do. Please give suggestions. Thank you very much.
Business List for Sandy's Closet
1. Set up a web site
2. Make brochures
3. Make at least a 100 items
4. Present items in a fashion show
5. Have house parties
6.Create a catalog with items
I am a crocheter and I am very good at it, so I would make my hobby into a business. I know how to make items such as blankets, coats, baby items and more. The above list are a few ideas. Again I thank you for your suggestions.

I suggest you set up a separate bank account to run business expenses and income through.
Have you figured out the pricing you plan to use? Can you get fair value for the time you send making the product?
Will you have enough time to go to school, make the products, and do the admin work?
Once you get a website or catalog going, get business cards with the info on them so you can pass them out or post them on community boards.
The most important thing, remember to enjoy it. Once it gets to the point where it's more of a chore than a hobby, it's a lot harder to keep up with everything. If you need any help with website/business card design ideas, I'd be more than happy to help! I love to design sites/cards! (Hey, it's what I went to school for!) =)
Good luck!
Also offer classes and personalized instruction -- may have to start say with volunteering to a group but something may come out of it and it is a good, inexpensive way to get your name out.
