Taking A Break and Visiting

I spent my precious days off from work asleep!  Really!  That is how I spent my two days off.  Some of it. . . . .

Saturday ( 09/28/2008 ) I spent most of the day asleep  I didn't even go near the computer.  Somteimes you just need to do that.  Plus, I had been on it early that morning.  That was enough for me.

Sunday ( 09/28/2008 ) I went to chruch, and was built up and encuraged by the WOrd of God.  Then I went a visited my Mom at the nuring home. 

For the first time I was able to actually sit with her for a few minutes before the service started.  The minister was about fifteen minutes late and I spent the time sitting quietly next to Mom. 

Sometimes my visits are like that.  I just sit quetly next to her.  Other times she spends the time cursing, or yelling strange things at me.  Sometimes she stares at me and if looks could kill, I would be dead a million times over!

I remember one time Mom called me a "whoremonger"!  No amount of reasoning in the universe would convince her that a woman cannot be a whoremonger. . . .    Such are the thing I have to deal with when I go and visit my Mom.

I also went to visit my friend Angel.  Angel has been in the hospital for nearly three months due to the affects of Mysethenia Gravis.  Three months ago, she went into the hospital a practical invalid, unable to walk and getting worse.

After intense theapy, she is able to move her legs and walk a little with assistance.  I thank God for the progress!  A few months ago I was ready to give my friend up for dead.  Indeed she was ready to die also, because she had pre-arranged her funneral.  But, as of Sunday, she was doing great!  She looked like her old, cheerful self.

Just one small bump in the road though.  In order for her to continue to get the intense therapy she needs, Angel had to be moved.  They moved her to the nursing home part of the hospital.  She was a little perplexed about that, but she didn't let it get her down.  She's planning to "walk" out of the hospital and she wants to "walk" back into the church.  We at the chruch are looking forward to see her "walk" back in!
