Today I feel very blessed...especially in light of what is going on with our economy.
Last week I interviewed for a part-time job that I really wanted, and today I found out that they are offering me the position....:)
This has been a long struggle for me. I have really wanted a job where I am in a position of helping people. The last job that I really enjoyed was working in a group home with abused and neglected children, but that was several years ago and I'm just not up to restraining out of control children anymore. I'm getting too old for that.
So I've left it in God's hands. I've applied for all kinds of jobs...including retail and fast food....(even though I really didn't want those jobs, because I hate working with money). Still, every job I've applied to, I've prayed and just left it in God's hands, knowing if it was His will, then I would get the job. Still...nobody called.
Then a couple of weeks ago, I saw a job in the paper for a part-time House Mother at a group home for unwed mothers. I applied, interviewed...and got the job! I'm so excited about it. I will be living in there 2 days a week...fixing meals and maintaining order and a sense of safety in the home...giving support to these girls who have little support anywhere else.
Another great thing about this job is that since it is only 2 days a week, I will still have plenty of time to devote to my writing.
I feel blessed, and thank God for the opportunity.

I didn't even know they had group homes for unwed mothers anymore. There used to be some here but they were phased out years ago.
