Mom's Rising Tries to See Sarah - Turned Away

A well-known non-partisan group Mom's Rising tried to present a letter with 22,000 signatures asking Sarah Palin to define her stand on issues important to all mothers, since she is also a mother.

The letter asks her views on family leave, equal pay, women and children living in poverty, health care for children and pregnant women.  These issues should be at the heart of the platform of anyone stating that being a mom is one of her qualifications.

She's not allowed to speak without a very tightly controlled script or many long hours of preparation. On the few occassions that she's opened her mouth in public, she's managed to disembowel herself and the head of her ticket.

I strongly suspect that she'll have a mysterious, transmitter-shaped "bump" showing through the back of her outfit on Thursday evening.

It's a worthwhile set of questions to ask ALL the candidates, actually. However, given Palin's using her parenthood as a qualification, she certainly should address them.

Well, if she stands with her running mate then all you have to do is look at his voting on bills for women for either equal pay etc. you will see he is against such and has the thinking of a man from the 19th century not the 21st century...

I don't know Pamela. But I'm thinking if they get a ton of signatures it will be hard for them to over look them.

Yeah Sue - I think she's going to have her daughter induced that day so she can say she went into labor.

Sarah Palin's refusal to answer any questions proves (as if we needed proof) that she is a puppet to her party, so we know the answers to the questions.

Bynot answering, she does take the chance that the rest of us will assume answers for her. For most of us, I think the answers would not be good.

You know, it wasn't like they were even trying to present it to her in person; they were just trying to drop it off at her campaign office. And then the receptionist says they don't accept things dropped off like that and suggested that they mail it in. Oh really? So you can deny that you even got it?

What moron in the Republican leadership thought this woman was a good idea?

Thanks for bringing this to others' attention, Sharon. I signed - and fully believe in the importance of the questions in the email. I respect Gwen Ifil and hope that she considers working these questions into the debate. They are extremely important not just to women and mothers, but to all Americans. A true Democracy means that everyone is treated equally, regardless of sex.
