The bailout is ready for Congress.
The real question might be ...
Are you ready for it?
This will cost US (not U.S., but us as in you and me) in the end.
We may need a bailout when all is said and done.
What bothers me the most, is that this plan which may get the Senate vote by Wednesday, only gives a slap on the wrist to every CEO, CFO, and all others at the top of this mess.
Our pockets may get the biggest slap of all.
I hope not.
I really hope this plan works.

If you don't like the prospect of paying for this in years to come I suggest you read Invisible Hand. With that system there is no debt and no taxes and no government intervention in business possible nor needed. It's a striking new idea and you have never read anything remotely like it before. Nothing of the tired old failed ideas of the left nor the right. It's an entirely new direction politically. No party even knows about this solution.
Or you can take the other way out. You can save the time and energy you would spend in reading a fun novel and complain about the economy, government, and taxes and pay through the nose for as long as you live. Your choice.
I pray this will work, but whatever happens, America will be changed. Credit will be harder to get. Americans will have to budget and do without lots of things - even things we define as necessities.
We might be driving at 27 miles and hour to ration gas as they did in World War II; we might have gardens in our back yards so we can eat.
We will survive, I hope. The eononomy may not be our worst problem.
When Einstein was asked what World War III would be like, he said he didn't know, but World War IV would be fought with sticks and stones.
I am very frightened.
Frankly, I don't want to pay for his rich friends to get richer one more time - guess he had to give it to them before he's out of the White House and we seem to be powerless to do anything about it.
See, our government has it all taken care of and for our "benefit".
It would be better tolet it all collapse and let the free capitialist market resurect itself , it will come back stronger than ever if allowed to work itself out.
Dodd and Franks should resign , immediately!
We are JUST BEGINNING to feel the effects of the mess we're in. The "solution" being rammed down our throats is no solution at all. It is a mere drop in the vast bucket of our problems... It is a ploy created by the people MOST responsible for the degradation of our economy, to delay our having to deal with the consequences of THEIR actions until they've long since headed for the horizon. And it is just ONE MORE THING we will eventually have to pay for.
Write to every one of your elected representatives NOW - the very NEXT THING YOU DO - and tell them to kill this thing or you promise to withdraw ALL support from them.

Don't expect congress to hand out any punishment. They're complicit.
Tell ya what: how about if we taxpayers 'pack their 'chutes' for the whole lot of 'em? We'll make sure they're packed right!
I say let it all collapse, dissolve Fannie Mae, dissolve Freddie Mac, expel Dodd, expel Franks.... cut all Americans taxes in half and allow us to use our own money to pay our bills.
If our government is so hell bent on handing out nearly three quarters of a trillion dollars, put it in our hands to pay down our debts and shore up the red ink on all our ledgers.
