Landmark Park has exceptional educational opportunities as it offers several "Outdoor Learning Labs" and boardwalk wildlife exhibits (to take a walk on the boardwalk and see some nature, please click here). There is also "The Barnyard", which is an awesome playground.

The STARLAB Planetarium features various informational exhibits and a view of the stars. (To tour the inside of the Planetarium see this article.)

There's a central gazebo and sitting area. On warm summer evenings there's "Music By Moonlight" in this area.

Across from the gazebo there are some very old buildings set up. It almost looks like a scene from an old western.

There's the Pharmacy which is filled with old time pharmaceuticals, toys, candy, a soda fountain and a doctor's office is located in the rear of the pharmacy. I suppose this made it convenient to go to the doctor and down the hallway to have your prescriptions filled. (Click here for the tour of the pharmacy.)

There is a General Store that carries everything from books to clothing. (Click here to shop at the General Store.)

There is a Presbyterian Church and it is beautiful inside....all wood. The glass windows are impressive because of their size. If you would like to see the inside of this church, please click here.

There is an old school house which is very interesting as children coming for the educational program have the opportunity to actually participate in a school lesson in this one room building.

Here is a look at the inside of this building:

There's an old farmhouse which boasts furniture from the time period. (For the tour of the house, click here.)

And here are some photos from around the farmstead. (Photo tour of the farm animals, equipment, and the Blacksmith's shop can be found here).

Well, as you can see, Landmark Park has a lot to offer and is a perfect place to spend the day. If you are ever in the area, I highly recommend this Park. I also encourage you to take a peek at the other articles I've written for Landmark Park. There's so many interesting things to see. I think the two buildings that seized my attention the most were the Pharmacy and the old Farmhouse. The relics found in them were incredible.

Thanks for posting to *A Camera = A Beautiful Memory*
Thank you. It was a good day.
Tracy,
Thanks to you too! Did you find out how close this park is in correlation to where you previously lived? If you ever get back this way, make a trip to the park ;)
Thanks, Marilyn.
Dale,
You are so right about that! There are so many things the younger generation is not learning. That's one reason I was impressed with this park. They have educational programs for children to participate in "life on the farm" and how the classes were in years gone by. Thanks for stopping by.
Kay,
We will have to plan an excursion to the park when you guys visit again. Desmond and Ryan will have a blast and get to see lots of things. I think you and Tommy will greatly enjoy it too. With the weather cooling off, it will be a perfect time to go to this park. The "expert" photographer? You sure are using that term loosely, aren't ya? :) It is easy to look over certain comments, especially when the "commentator" does not mean anything. Just think though, it was worth a page view :) Love ya.
Mary,
Thank you very much. I'm glad you enjoyed this.
Thanks, Vic.
Sarah,
Thank you. I've never been there but have heard wonderful things about Williamsburg. Maybe one day I will get the chance to go.
Can you place this in Artistic Therapy I believe everyone over there would LOVE this!
Blessings ~

Thanks so much for stopping by to take the tour. There are actually several parts to this series. I had so many photos and couldn't decide which ones I REALLY liked, so I used most of them :) I was going to post just one article, but I don't think Gather could hold up to the size it would have been (hehehe). No, really, because I know some people are still on dial up, I wanted to break it up so it would load quicker.
Thanks again. I edited this and posted it to the group :)
Blessings...
Trish, thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed this.
Maurice, It is a wonderful park and there are so many things to do there.
Necee, Thanks so much!
