How do you earn points?

I am new to Gather, I have only been here one week and I am still pretty confused by it. I am still trying to figure out how you earn points. Do you earn points by commenting on other people's posts, or only by making your own posts and getting people to comment on them?

You get points for commenting on other people's pics and post.

You get points for uploading your photos

You get points for Posting

You do not get points for pings It's just a nice way to keep in touch

I dont know a whole lot about it, but from what i understand it is you commenting on other ppls post, inviting friends, making posts and have ppl comment on there. Good luck Pam and Pristina. Have a wonderful Day.

Participation is a big factor- the more you are here, and the more you comment, rate, and post yourself, the easier it is to earn points.

page views you give earns you and the poster points.
Posting anything gives you points
Commenting does not give you points, the page views do.
Every time someone views your pages it gives both of you points.
ratings do not give points.

However
Rating and commenting brings the people to your pages to return the comment. So if you don't comment it's unlikely you'll get as many page views and comments.

So it's good to post and comment as much as you can and view all your connections postings.

Watch for contest and promotions to earn bonus points.

Participation is the key here.

Comments are a good way to get more people looking at what you post, that's true. You will also get more friends requests that way, too. The more active you are, the better, basically. ;)

Some of the information that you have been given above is incorrect. Gather has not issued an official "way to earn points" like BT had. LOL Had to laugh...since evidently they did not pay for their points.... Oh ok on with the answer.

Gather has stated that you DO NOT earn points for commenting - however you do earn points for viewing a page. When you comment, people know you were there and they usually in turn view your page so in my opinion commening is a good thing but you do not earn points for it.

You earn for posting photos and posts. You earn for the page views on those you post as well as page views on others posts.

Just comment comment comment! Get connections, and then join lots of groups... make sure that you post to those groups! :D

Viewing and comments seem the way to earn points. Not perfectly clear on this as gather does not post clear info. has to how points are garnered. Would you like to join Pretty as a Picture. I try to comment on all the pictures that get posted there. I do fall beind sometimes though! lol

There is no exact formula for points, but participation is important. I always try to go and view as much stuff as possible, and comment back on as many people as I can who have left me comments.
Pretty much everything except pings help earn you points.

you do get points for both I believe - some days I just post photos/posts, others I just comment on other peoples stuff - both seem to get me points. Commenting on others content usually gets you friends & comments in return which gets you points. Best wishes
