For your consideration:

Obviously, Biden is always going to spin things Obama's way. In reality, neither candidate landed a "knockout punch" in the debate.
But the tough thing for McCain is that Obama led in the polls before the debate, is stil leading after the debate, and that there is a possibility that the McCain campaign could take on more water Thursday when Palin and Biden face off. Palin has been spotty in her interviews with Kouric and with Charlie Gibson. What happens if her debate with Biden is sloppy and non-fact-based? What if Biden is still able to make Palin look bad, without being condescending and contemptuous? (He needs to avoid that. It's okay for McCain to do it with the black guy, but Biden should avoid that with the white woman)
And that thing about Obama and Biden campaigning in Virginia? McCain really cannot afford to lose the state of Virginia in the electoral college. And it could happen.

First, the McCain campaign will be seeking to find some way of baiting Biden into saying something that can be twisted into a sexist attack on Palin. That way all the media will be focused on that for days and will not focus on how bad Palin does. I actually do hope Biden has a Lloyd Bentsen moment where he says "I know Hillary Clinton, and you are no Hillary Clinton," but I suppose that won't be very helpful. Biden's best bet is to answer the questions directly to the moderator and audience and ignore Palin completely. Let her make or break herself.
Second, the McCain campaign will roll out some inflammatory story about Obama. Perhaps it will be the resurrection of Rev. Wright or something new. But expect some dirty trick. The McCain campaign is getting increasingly desperate and has already shown it is willing to do dramatic things to "shake up" his campaign. Never mind that all his self-centered buffoonery has been backfiring on him, he has no choice. And he will do it.
Palin is no match for Biden and she is so tied up in investigation she is almost ready to be sent back home. Maybe Liebernam will be standing by his buddy sooner than he thought.
Palin brings nothing to the campaign except more neocon nonsense. Palin says what McCain thinks because McCain is trying to show himself as a real person instead of the neocon he is.
David- thanks for the rating. I should not care about them since it is inevitable in this partisan time for personal feelings to play a role, but I need another target card!
How are things in Belgium? I imagine Obama is popular there.
Jack- it is clear what goes on with Palin, and pretty clear that she is not president material. It is somewhat less clear to me what goes on with McCain sometimes. some have marvelled at his lack of willingnes to look at Obama during the debate. I think McCain feels a little guilty about some of the lies he has told on Obama. I think he has been trying to demonize obama in his own mind, and he has to make a real effort to do it. I think that McCain always knew he had a mountian to climb in this election, and he made a deal with the devil to have even a shot at it.
