A knowledgeable, professional investor can and does make money regularly on common stocks. But for the average investor, determining which stocks will do well and which will not is a highly technical field that very few investors are equipped to handle.

That is true, I know someone who tried to play the stock market, and ended up losing almost everythng.

Yes, for waging war you need guidance, but that's missing the point: why do we need to wage war in the first place? Aren't we equipped with a rational mind that can create other conditions to achieve goals? (usually they are greedy goals). Look at history: invasions are nothing else but to gather the richess of the invaded land. When at war we lower ourselves to the chimpanzee's level: they are ferocious with each other for territorial possessions.
