I want a president who can multitask. A competent leader can work on legislation to help citizens facing serious economic problems and set aside two hours to debate his opponent. It also wouldn’t hurt if it took him less than ten days to realize that the economy is in a crisis.
I want a president who knows how to use the computer. Again, I don’t think this is asking too much. It’s 2008, and if my 84 year old grandmother with Alzheimer’s is able to get online and open a defunct PayPal account, I think the president of the United States of America should be just as capable, if not more.
I want a president who knows that the world cannot be divided between “good guys” and “bad guys.” This incredibly simplistic mentality is akin to gradeschool children playing “cops and robbers.” It’s childish and it’s exactly what George Bush Jr. has been spouting out for the past eight years.
I want a president who, after saying something unbelievably stupid like “Being in proximity to Russia gives me plenty of experience in foreign policy,” realizes her mistake and is able to apologize for assuming that the American people are dumb enough to swallow such utter drivel. It’s a stupid stupid thing to say, and it’s even stupider for continuing to defend it. I live in Arizona, and if Governor Janet Napolitano were to claim that being next to Mexico gave her insight into foriegn relations, I would immediately call for her removal from office.

Linda where is that fact to backup that claim?? I would take Biden foriegn experience over Palin-hey I can see Russia from over here...get a life...or clue...Putin is laughing at you woman saying what a joke ....
Instead of going point by point against your argument, I have decided instead to post a counter argument, I Want a President Who Is Wiser Than Me. I think wisdom beats intelligence any day of the week, because thewise man finds the intelligent people out there and becomes more intelligent because of the collective intelligence than the intelligent man who is all alone.
Christopher, If you want someone wiser then McCain is your guy. I've found people who are very intelligent as in "Academic Intelligence" possess very little common sense. So much so that it's often hard for them to navigate in everyday life.
Wiser is the way!
If that's all you want in a President .... YOU GOT IT !!!
Here's a news flash: Palin is not running for President! Altho she is often put in that position, in comparing her vast experience to Obama's none. Another: George Bush is not running for President. Gotta' get some of those little details straight, about who's who on which ticket.
I don't want my President spending his time on the computer, doing email and pay pal. That's beneath his pay grade. He has several hundred "worker bees" to do his computer work.
The debates will happen. WHEN they happen should not be at a time when the country has just learned of impending economic disaster. Both of these events require theirs, and our undivided attention. McCain was willing to sacrifice campaigning/debating, set it aside temporarily, to focus on an issue needing prompt and decisive action
Obama chose to politick/campaign as he has done for most of the past two years, even though he deemed this crisis a great economic threat to the country.
