Kitchen Project

Another project I've been working on is painting my kitchen.  My cabinets were very dark wood and made the whole kitchen dark.  I decided to paint them too and brighten the place up.  My counter top is such a bright blue, I inherited these, I didn't pick them out!!!  Here's the before and the after pictures.

That looks so much better. It is always an amazing change when you do something simple like painting. It really looks great!

That looks wonderful. The house we are buying has really dark wood paneling in the tiny kitchen. I plan on washing them down, priming them, and painting them a nice pale yellow. The cabinets are a light oak color and they can stay that way for the time being.

It looks much different. I think it definitely an improvement. I'm sure the kitchen feels much lighter now. Good job!!

That's pretty! When we redid our kitchen, I painted the cabinets a barn red and switched the handles for ones that look like spoons and forks.

I think the lighter color on the cabinets really completely changes the look of the kitchen for the better. My Mom just did the same thing were her kitchen cabinets and I loved it.

Becareful of the polyurithane (sp) coating you use. We painted ours White and two weeks later I looked and it was splotched with yellow and got progressively worse. Seems there was a warning we didnt see on the coating can.
