What is everyone's thoughts on my savings shopping spree?
---------------------------------------------------------------
Who influenced me to save while shopping? And overall, write this article? ....
I'd have to give a lot of credit to my mother. Any time she gives me money when in need, it does make me feel bad, but she tells me "Make sure you match an ad, Michelle" or "Make sure you do this or that".... You know as much as I love my Mother, she does get on my nerves a bit about saving, though, I'd have to thank her in the long run because, its becoming very helpful during this difficult financial times. It makes me feel bad as it is, when she asked me the other day before giving me the money, what we had spent Walter's check on. I felt embarrassed but my response was, "Well, I'm trying not to be depressed or fall into a big depression with Gracee not here (tears in eyes), so we bought a Hangman game and Walter bought a movie, to try to block out all of this, until this is done and over with and she is home." She continued to listen and she asked, "What else did you spend the money on?" Then I told her, we spent $40 in gas for the vehicle, bought a container to organize clothes in, him some cigarettes which cost $20 and that was all I could remember we spent the money on". She got quiet, paused and said, "Do you have food?" I looked at her and lied and said "yes, we have food, we just need to buy bread and soda." She then asked, "Well, how much money do you have on his card?" I thought to myself *oh gosh, I can't lie to my mom, she has now caught me!* So I told her the truth "around eleven dollars remaining". She looked at me and asked, "How is that going to afford two loaves of bread and soda?" I looked at her and holding back tears, "I don't know, we will manage, mom." So, my mother behind my stepfather's back hands me twelve dollars and tells me to hide it and keep quiet. I go in the bathroom, cry, missing my daughter, and cry tears of my mother having to help me during these difficult times. As much as I didn't want to ask for her help, she knew I needed it and gave it to me, even though I wanted to hand her back the money. Though, my mom has helped us so many times in need regarding our daughter (don't get me wrong, she doesn't buy diapers every week), but if she knows we're struggling, she hands us money after drilling us with questions that I cannot answer. It gets frustrating and the other day, my man accidentally ran over her expensive flower pots ($200 range, she won't tell me the price) which has made us feel bad and she told us not to worry about it, but yet, I've always wanted to repay my mother because she's did way more than I could ever give back to her, but if I could repay all of what she did for us in times of need, I would, but simply, it makes me sometimes feel bad because I know we cannot repay her. I give her hugs, but when I try to hand her a little money when we have extra money, she refuses to take it. ::Sighs::
