Clinton voters
An Associated Press-Yahoo News poll shows that among adults who backed his rival during their bitter primary campaign, 58 percent now support Obama. That is the same percentage who said so in June, when Clinton ended her bid and urged her backers to line up behind the Democratic senator from Illinois.
The poll shows that while Obama has gained ground among Clinton's supporters — 69 percent view him favorably now, up 9 percentage points from June — this has yet to translate into more of their support.

Why do you think it is that despite everything thats been done to pull in Clinton supporters that Obama can't seem to make any movement with those folks?

Meanwhile, I don't put much into this one poll, frankly. Other polls that I've seen show a marked, definitive uptick in white women supporting Obama, after Hillary bowed out. Since this is the only one that speaks otherwise, I'm calling this one the "outlying poll," and casting it aside, just as I am the poll that shows Obama leading by 9, while others show him up by 6.
The point of the article is not that Obama isn't making headway at all, but rather that he's supposedly not making headway with women. It runs exactly counter to what I've read previously, but it is a poll that's out there. I would strongly suspect that, if one were to examine the methodology of this particular poll, you'd find some rather glaring defects that would render it nearly meaningless.
I simply find it impossible to believe that ANY woman who was supporting Hillary would suddenly change their entire ideology overnight, in order to vote against everything that they've ever stood for, rather than voting for Obama, and maintaining their own principles and ideological beliefs in line. The ONLY women who REALLY supported Hillary but now have changed their support to McCain are either blatant racists, ignorant fools, or all of the above.
Hillary supporters are men as well as women.
A twenty-something black man noticed my "Hillary supporters for McCain" button, he said he is in the same boat. I gave him the button I was wearing. I saw him today, and he is still wearing it.
"The ONLY women who REALLY supported Hillary but now have changed their support to McCain are either blatant racists, ignorant fools, or all of the above."
Is that what you think anyone who doesn't vote Obama are Clark?
I don't put much into any single poll, whether it be this outlier or the outlier that has Obama up by 9. In particular, I would be HIGHLY dubious of ANY poll that claimed to gather data from "Hillary supporters," since we all know that a large number of those were republicans who crossed lines during primaries, because they much preferred to run against her than against Obama. We have absolutely no way of knowing how many Hillary voters were republicans who had no intention of voting for her in the general election, therefore any poll that attempts to glean something from that swath of people is meaningless.
"Is that what you think anyone who doesn't vote Obama are Clark? "
Is that what I said? Doesn't look like it, does it? Read what I wrote. I meant nothing more and nothing less than exactly what I said.
It's all just media trickery to keep it interesting.
Don't forget that, unless the polls say "tied" on Nov. 4, it's very unlikely that the GOP will be able to steal another election. The rightwing corporate media will do everything in its power to stay on message...especially to flat out ignore the fact that there are millions more democratic voters than republicans.
