She lay in the hospital bed and considered her condition. Gone was the smooth soft skin of her hands and in its place - stretched parchment. Gone were the shapely legs he loved to look at so much, only bones now, nothing to see here. The doctor had just been in and had answered all her questions. It was only going to get worse before the end. But she was ready, resigned - until he had to show up again. Why wouldn't he just stay away? White Lies. He tells them with his eyes every time he looks at me with Hope.

I saw a segment on Oprah about a woman who lost her arms and legs following an infection from childbirth...so tragic!
The husband kept assuring her she was beautiful regardless..
