I'm sure someone else has said this before, but I've got the History Channel on, and it's going on about how a charismatic man will rise to power over 'the tribes and nations of the world' and receive their support, and at first will promise an era of peace and prosperity, but follow it with seven years of torment and fear, and the ruination of the church.
Honestly, I don't put much faith in Revelations, but as long as we're playing pin the tail on the Antichrist, our reigning President looks like a more likely candidate than either of the ones running for office this term. In fact, listening to Republicans deride Obama for reminding them of Christ, you'd think they were subtly admitting that they're waiting for Jesus to banish their Antichrist.
Ah well, back to work.

... now I'm watching Naked Archaeologist, which has Biblical cows.
Of course, by this logic, Bush is also sketchy - after all, in his first year, he wasn't too popular - until you bear in mind that immediately after September 11th, any dissenters he did have were silenced, and the world rallied around to support him. Further, this base of absolute support was what he used as a basis for many of his unpopular policies to help protect and preserve our country.
Honestly, I don't think anyone will ever manage to fool all of the people all of the time -- but Bush has come a lot closer than any of our other politicians.

Food for thought, who says it has to be a man?
Hence, the current President of the United States, is not the Anti-Christ.
But on the bright side, we will have more free time.
I have truly, truly, TRULY missed you here on Gather, Don. Where HAVE you been?
I don't know about Reagan being the first beast, or Bush being the second beast, but here are some factual things that make Bush not possible. The book of Daniel clearly make Bush not possible as well:
ANTI-CHRIST TO BE REVEALED
As of today, no one knows who the Anti-Christ is, but we do know what God has told us about him:
He will only be revealed after the "He who restrains the "man of lawlessness/Sin" is taken out of the way. (i.e. the Rapture of the Church) -(2 Thess. 2:6)
He will be revealed before Christ's second coming (2 Thess. 2:3)
He will rule over the ten Nations that make up the revived/revised Roman Empire (Dan. 7:20)
He will rule for 7 years -(Dan.9:27)
God will destroy him at the end of the great Tribulation period when He returns to claim His inheritance. (Rev. 19:20; Dan. 7:26)
However,
Even the Torah Codes, aka The Bible Codes are on Obama's side as far as the Presidency goes.
The revealed, when searched in January, 2008, that the possibilities for the Presidency? In this order:
1. Obama (very, very likely)
2. McCain (not good)
3. Hillary (very unlikely)
Don't take those Bible Codes too lightly. They were certainly accurate when it came to Hillary. Time shall certainly tell if they're right about Obama and McCain.
The rest of what you say:
"The Iranians will stop the flow of oil and they will use the WMDs they have already smuggled into the United States. After the WMD attack against the United States, Bush will nuke much of the Middle East. Millions will be dead, there will be economic collapse, and the world will be dark with dust and debris clogging the atmosphere."
I knew it was going to get very bad, and even if all of this is true, it shall even worse, much worse than this; people really have NO IDEA. The thing that stuns me is that I didn't think it was going to happen so quickly.
If you are correct, it's because Bush, Cheney, Rove, and Company shall feel the necessity to move before Obama takes office, lest he spoils their sweet setup, thus inciting Iran to act, creating the war scenario. After all, for them -- and they HAVE openly stated -- war is politically advantageous, and expedient. No war is disastrous for them.
I hope you are wrong about this.
Sorry, I haven’t been to Gather in a while.
The current financial and economic trouble mean an almost certain Obama victory, and the polls are increasingly showing that. These troubles will also make Bush even more unpopular as he leaves office which will lead to increased support for prosecution of the former president for the times he exceeded his power. It’s like how the failed federal response to Katrina caused people to look at Bush more negatively, this financial disaster will cause people to look at Bush with even greater hostility. The administration may have hoped that these troubles would not come until Obama took office, but it didn’t work out that way, and now they have a big problem. Even the Republicans are turning against Bush.
The end of his term also means Bush will not be able to complete his mission for God that he came into office believing he was on. Feeling backed into a corner with everyone against him, Bush may make an effort to redeem his presidency and complete his holy mission by coming to Israel’s rescue.
Israel is in a tough spot and they may soon find themselves very much alone in the world. Obama may not be pro-Palestinian, but he certainly won’t be the trigger happy supporter of Israel that Bush has been. People in Israel believe that Iran is working on nuclear weapons and is determined to destroy them. If Israel has any intentions of attacking Iran, they must do it before Bush leaves office. They would be crazy to wait.
It’s like when Quint the shark hunter in Jaws was talking about the time he was ship wrecked in shark infested waters, he said the time he was most frightened was just before it was his turn to get on the rescue boat. That’s the situation we are in now. It’s these last few months of the Bush administration that are going to be the most dangerous.
So, it all starts, does it?
If that is the case, these are but the beginning of sorrows.
What's interesting -- and THAT word, "interesting" is really an empty word (a space filler for lack of a sufficient one) is that people have no idea of what is to come, won't be able to fathom what is to come if you're right, Don.
Oh Brother, but I want no parts of this, I want no parts of this, I want NO parts of this, I want absolutely NOTHING, NOTHING to do with any of this! The things shall begin to occur quickly -- no time to think about them -- one on top of the other.
Don, I had been telling people that I was excited about Obama's Presidency, not because he was Black, but because it was the debut of a brand new era, where all things were to come to a head. I knew that he was to precede all of this, but I thought it would occur a year or two into his Presidency, not preceding his Presidency; if you are correct, I have miscalculated, and all of this is based on calculations.
That was why I was willing to put up any amount of money on his Presidency; I knew. Bad, bad me, I know. But, I could not help myself.
I shall ping you again, or wiser, email . . .
Mooch
Oh, and I actually do believe there will be an antichrist. Tick-tock-tick-tock... But in the end, Jesus is coming back to kick his hiney! And I will have a front row seat!
