Question for you

I have a question for the Gather community,  Does anyone know the best treatment medication for acne?  My daughter has horrible acne.  I have noticed here in Phoenix many people are suffering from acne.  I took her to the doctor, and he gave her an expensive Rx that he said would "take three months to begin to work." We did not see any change.  Please let me know your thoughts.

No, the only one I've ever seen work is Acutane and it has horrific side effects. I have never used it but my sister does. They make you take a pregnancy test before you go on it and then they check your liver after you are on it. It's scary but it worked for her.

When I was a teenager, I had medium acne and I asked a previous cousin of mine what she used, since she only had one zit/pimple and her mom told me to use Clearasil Morning Burst ... Its orange and looks like it has glitter in it and it makes a popping sound when you take a shower. It is kinda expensive - $5-6 at Walmart and helped clear my acne up in my teenage years.

Wow! So, I wonder...I have never tried Proactive or Clearasil morning burst. Her acne is medium. Thank you so much!

My younger brother had a terrible case of acne. It got so bad he had to go to a doctor; he couldn't lean against anything or lay down and be comfortable, etc. The Doc put him on that Accutane treatment, but as mentioned above it can be harmful if not under doctors care. He would get real bad nose bleeds from it as the worst side affect for him.
However, after years of trying everything else without success, it worked great on him. He was so grateful about it all being over.

I bought the Clearasil burst this afternoon. It looks like Proactive is a good product? Wow. Maybe we all learned something today-I know I did. Thank you so much!

I always just used Noxema to clean my face and to put on my face, I never had acne.

Thank you. We are still working on the issue. We are trying the Clean and Clear Morning Burst. We have been trying that x 1 week. We are going to give it a couple of weeks at least. If it doesn't work, it will be Proactive time! Thanks!

Haven't tried Proactive yet. Tried a product that boasted similar results. Still problems. Will try proactive next.
