Thanks, Kathryn - this is a good set of articles to read. I would have missed them otherwise.

I am so glad I set up alerts last week - makes it easy to find articles on specific topics or people - something that THIS time of the election year - we are MOST interested in finding out.

Interesting also that fewer articles are being written about Palin - fewer than in the previous TWO weeks - seems people are just getting tired of talking about her.

What is the point of politics honestly?it should not be like that....need only the truth and helping to each other.

I'm not American. I'm probably apolitical but I think you guys are due for a woman in the power mix. Obama/Clinton could have been a dream ticket. Whether Palin is paling or not, the mix and the fact that an exemplary democratic model like America is yet to have a woman in the White House is likely to make the hurdle for Obama pretty tough. I'm black and proud of it but the fact is that both blacks and women have been marginalised in the number one democracy in the world is why this election minus Hilary is a close call for the Americans who have to choose between black and white versus woman and man. We can pretend to be so rational but we have not escape from romanticism in this age. I would like Obama's audacious hope to shine through but my primitive instinct tends to place the bet on Palin pushing the old man through.

Kathryn, either that or they are finding out the truth about her and she has lost the gloss thats she first had for them...personally I didn't like her to begin with and not just because of her politics...she felt like a phony to begin with not just after so many things have surfaced to discredit her as such a great governor of Alaska and the title of Maverick just will not hold for either her or McCain...

A pretty face does not mean someone is what they would like you to think they are...the thing that struck me when I first saw a photo of her was she looked like someone from the 1950's in the way she dressed and had her hair done...just an observation and yes, I lived back in the fifties and no I do not want to return to those days...

Does saying the same lie over and over make it a truth? Like she said about the "bridge to nowhere" that she told congress "thanks but no thanks" funny she was all for it until she found out she could not get the money for it..

Oh well, from the Republicans the same old lies over and over again but that still does not make them so...only that people will believe anything if repeated as truth over and over again will begin to believe it is the truth...not me but some will believe it, even when shown it to be a lie...

It doesn't help your cause. I am more turned off by Obama than ever. I am even more turned off by his followers.

The New York Times is the paper that did three front page articles on a teen age girl's pregnancy. Great jourrnalism and another reasaon why so many people cancel their subscriptions.

I am so tired of the lies by McCain/Palin...they have been called on it and they still do it which show HOW out of touch they really are.

Obama and his followers have stooped beyond low and just continue. They are their own worst enemy. Obama blew it when he didn't pick Hill and now he's on the verge of losing despite the record breaking donations he's received.

Thank goodness for the NYT. I can only take so much of the 24-hr. tv news channels, which have so little real reporting and mostly entertainment. Though right now I am watching an interesting panel discussion among secretaries of state on CNN.
