No one is perfect, but some people are smarter than others, just like some are prettier or better athletes. We all have our gifts and intelligence and the ability to think critically is a gift I'd like my president to have.

Who runs our country? WE do. Those of us who vote put representatives in office to make laws as we direct. Voters do not elect presidents. The political parties and electoral college handles that. Presidents do not make our laws. Congress does.

If our elected representatives do not obey our instructions, we need to vote them out. If we don't vote them out, we are the not very bright people running our country.

Bush may not be too bright, but this isn't the result of Bush, it's the result of the corporate shadow government he heads, and was not a mistake, other than it accelerated faster than they planned. It manifested itself several months before it was supposed to, but they aren't crying over spilt milk. Still in charge, they can further insure the end result they would like to see. It's about your money, becoming their money, and McCain is OWNED by those same people.
