Another $89.00!!!!

Thumbelina's 2nd vet visit last night. They had to do a urine check to see if the infection is gone. luckily it was! I had stopped the antibiotic after 8 days because it gave her loose stools, and she can't afford to lose anymore weight. The Dr likes them to have the meds for 12 days. Whew! So now I bring her back again next week to re check the thyroid. But I believe the meds are working because she doesn't act starving all the time, and her coat looks better, (she had been losing clumps of fur). By the time I'm done, I could've gone on vacation with the $$ I'm spending. But anyone with a pet knows it's worth it:)

So does she have low or high thyroid? I'm worried about one of our cats. She has gotten thin...but she acts like a kitten! And she's 13 years old. Her brother weighs twice as much as she does!

Joe just cost us $300 because of impacted anal glands...so I do know what you mean about the $$$

Oh, yes, the vet $$. Every time its more then you expect! Thankfully we should be done with the vet this year, except for emergencies, which I hope are few and far between!

high thyroid ellie....... she eats like theres no tomorrow, but was losing weight and her coat looked aweful.

She's beautiful Robyn. I have one cat I am worried about but don't have the $$ for the vet. Oy! To bad I can't get insurance, but I probably couldn't afford that either.

chana, they DO have pet insurance now! its not that much either! but i have 4 cats, so its cheaper for me to 'pay as i go'...LOL!

Poor Thumbelina. I'm glad she's getting better. I know how expensive the Vet's office is. But it is worth it to keep our furry friends healthy.

Well....ours has slowed down eating. But she still eats. She used to lick herself bald, but has stopped and her coat looks wonderful. She makes a mad dash for the stairs when she thinks I am going to bed and wants to sit on my chest purring like a locomotive! she wants to play and jump and run around like a wild animal. I need to take her in for routine blood, but I am dreading the vet bill!

Maybe she's finally recovered from the bad vacinations she had 6 or 7 years ago...has not had any more shots since!
I know how it is to love a pet! We have our little dog at the vet now, going on 3 days & I know it is going to be expensive.

I hear ya. Mine little Frankie dog had a urinary tract infection cost me a little over a $100. I hope your kitty gets well.

I'm glad she is doing better. My cat, Trinitie ended up costing us about $300 in the first couple months we had her. Part of that was getting her fixed, though. Luckily, in the almost 3 years since then, she hasn't had any vet visits besides just her checkup and shots every year!

Yes it can be really expensive when a pet gets sick. But just like people they need their meds too, and yes they are worth it. :+)

We had a great dog named Ralph. He was Black Lab/Border Collie/Great Dane...130 lbs. We NEVER got out of the vet for less than $120.

But I would do it over in a heartbeat!
