Results From Items Entered at the North Georgia State Fair (Photo Essay)

I went over to the North Georgia State Fair tonight to get my fair food fix and to also check out the results of the photos entered. Neither of my photos won anything and none of Jax's color shots won anything. More on what did win further below.

In looking at the photos that did win, I think overall the judging was pretty decent. Nothing jumped out at me as undeserving. Of course I don't know which, if any, of the ribbon winners were professional photographers or not.

The scenic and people photography categories had some amazing photo entries though. I spent some time looking at them. For the color plantlife category it seemed like true plant shots won. I didn't notice any flower photos with ribbons. I told Jax on the phone earlier I should have entered my hosta or calladium leaf macro shots, lol.

I also made sure to find as many of Jax and her kids entries as I could. Some I was unable to locate, but due to the mixed-medium "display layout" of the exhibit hall, it was difficult to find specific items. She'll have to report on those other entries after she's attended the fair this weekend.

Also, I didn't take a ton of photos in the exhibit hall due to poor lighting and an environment not compatible with flash photography.  Plus many of the photos I did take, didn't turn out so well. However, they're good enough for the purpose of this article.

First off are Pher's winning entries

Blue Ribbon for Scenic Color.

Third Place for a bracelet.

Third Place for People Color catergory. I loved this shot by the way, Pher.

Now onto Angela's winning entries

Second Place for a tie-dye shirt.

First Place for the awesome dog pillow!

First Place for Black & White Plantlife Entry. I wasn't sure if this was Angela's or not, but after talking to Jax earlier, we think it is.

And finally, a drumroll for our own Janet "Jax" B....

Second Place for Black & White Plantlife category. Guess judges dig shrooms too ;)

And a beautiful Blue Ribbon for Maggie in the Black & White Animal category.

Congrats Pher, Angela and Jax. Way to go!
