| | Eco-fashion can be so frustrating. Most "green" styles are either frumpy or frou-frou, and it's hard to find anything that fits. Simple Shoes has come to the rescue with comfy, stylish and affordable "Toepaz" slip ons.
What makes them so eco? Hemp or organic cotton uppers, recycled rubber soles, bamboo and organic cotton liners, but no animal products.
Wear them to the movies, the PTA, or a business casual function. At least, take a look at the website; the tongue-in-cheek copy will make you chuckle. I spent a few too many minutes playing with the magnifying glass (you'll have to check it out to see what I mean). $75; ground shipping is free.
NOTE: I needed a half-size larger than my normal shoe size. You can always measure your foot and call customer service before you order to make sure you get the size right (I hate sending things back, don't you?). The hemp uppers are available in black (shown here) and "cub," a nice darkish khaki color that goes with blue jeans as well as dressier pants. If you want something more colorful, like blue or a red plaid, check out the organic cotton version of the shoe. | |
