Ok, so I have a Paypal question

I just have a regular old personal Paypal account.  I've never had any trouble with it (which, based on a lot of the feedback around here of late, is no small miracle), but I do have a question that the FAQ on the PP site doesn't really address.

The receiving limit is $500 for a monthlong period.  That's fine, but there's some fine print that says this:

<i>Receiving limits apply only to the following payment types: eBay Items, Auction Goods (non-eBay), and other Goods. No other payment types affect your receiving limit.</i>

So what does this mean?  Do Gather payments and the like count as 'other Goods', or do they not apply?  It's a bit confusing to me and I'd love some clarification from anyone who knows the answer.

Sorry, I don't have an answer. I have used paypal for a few a few years. I have a personal account and I have never had to pay any fees. Hopefully, someone else can answer your question.

Gather would have to tell us which category their payment falls under..I know when you do payments from one person's Paypal to another you can choose it as cash advance or "other", so that may not affect the $500.

To clarify my comment..when you're just sending a friend or relative money from your Paypal to theirs, a loan for example.

I don't think Gather counts toward your $500 limit. If you click on the limits link when you are on your paypal account, it should tell you how much your receiving limit is, and how much you have remaining. I just checked on mine, and it says I still have $500 remaining, even though I've received over $400 this month from a few different websites, including gather.

I don't know a thing about PayPal because I don't like them, don't have an account and don't want an account. I don't like the fact Gather is forcing us to deal with that company even if we don't want to. I have two options come January...either give a company I don't care for all of my personal information and use them anyway...or leave Gather and not worry about using PayPal.

Sherry it's goods that your selling. Like if you ordered from a wholesale house to resell on ebay. You can still get more than $500 but you have to change to a business account.
