For those in the Boston area interested in small press publishing, this coming weekend (September 20-21, 2008) is the Boston Zine Fair. It runs from 10 AM to 6 PM Saturday and Sunday at the Art Institute of Boston, 601 Newbury Street, near Kenmore Square. The Boston Zine Fair is sponsored by Papercut Zine Library, Boston Comics Roundtable, Black Ocean, and Art Institute of Boston.
This is a really fun event where you'll meet small press publishers that you simply won't see other places. There are some incredibly talented writers, artists, and cartoonists who are part of the zine community, and I found it to be a really friendly show last year.
Best of all, admission is free.
My wife and I will be there, representing our small press comic book company, Dandelion Studios. We'll have copies of our comics for sale, as well as a new issue of my personal zone, Caravan.
I'll also be doing a "36-Hour" zine at the show, which people on-site and online will be able to participate in. If you're interesting in participating, send me Gather mail by Friday and I'll send out more information.
And if you're in Boston this weekend, stop by and say hello!
