I just posted a pic of Mayan ruins that is bright and well lit but on gather it looks dark and gloomy. This is the first pic that looks dramatically different on gather. Anyone have any hints or ideas how to fix it or why it happened?

This happens from time to time and can often be fixed if you have the ability to edit the image before uploading it to Gather.
Do you have a photo editor? (Photoshop, PhotoDraw, etc.)
You should try to change the color 'mode' from RGB to CMYK. Then change it back to RGB and save the image under a new name. That should resolve the problem when you upload it to Gather.
Please let me know how it works out!
