1, 2, 3, JUMP! A Trip to Hanging Rock Pass, McGregor Bay, Ontario (Photo Essay: 4th in a Series)

This wall of rock was just MADE for adventuresome kids who like to climb and jump into the drink from high places! The Dawgs and Dad motored here in the little boat one afternoon this summer during our stay in McGregor Bay, Ontario, to Hanging Rock Pass to experience the thrills. We only learned about this "playground" a couple of years ago, when T-Dawg came with his cousins, and last year C-Dawg and B-Dawg got to experience it too, on their trip around the U.S. by train. You can read about their adventures on Gather as the "Teenage Testerone Twins." I didn't go on this adventure; the photos are by the other members of the crew.

This looks like fun, but not for me! I'd be petrified. What a wonderful place, no wonder they like it so much. Good thing you didn't go Alison, if you're anything like me you'd be holding your breath with each jump until you saw their heads come up from under water.

I love the rugged beauty of the rocks juxtaposed with the water. But I tend to get nervous to see people playing and swimming around them because I imagine all the dangers.

Even the adults have jumped off the cliffs, but my hubby was watching from the boat--he took the photos. I KNOW he gave them plenty of warnings before he let them off, LOL!

well, i guess not, if its in ontario, but...
in nova scotia.. theres a great big lake...
its called porters lake. and i went on a small journey,
down this lake.. and found a jumping rock, which looked exactly like that!
there was 2 places to jump. like this. one was much higher than the other..
i stuck to the lower one. but wow.
it looks so alike.

Just saw your comment to me asking how I did on long drives. I enjoy driving so don't mind the 300 miles between home and my granddaughter's place. They used to live in Portland so that was a 350 mile drive. I like to go via Hwy 2 on the trips between April and Sept as I can't take that route during the winter. It's nice for a change of pace. I have taken I-90 SO MANY times over the years, I think I could drive it blindfolded! I know the mile markers and their approximate placements by heart! We lived in Issaquah for a year a long time ago and made the trip home frequently. I used to drive over a lot for Mariner's games, though haven't gone to any in the last 2 yrs.
