Slatter Cemetery - we were driving around Sunday morning before church & had some time to fill. I saw the sign to this cemetery & convinced my Husband to drive over to it so I could take pictures.
This was was a small aluminum sign. I wasn't sure why he didn't have a proper stone.

Detail on one of the stones.

I thought this one was interesting because it was outlined in stones. I've never seen this before.

Above & below - some really old ones. Some were very hard to read.

The 2 above - Slatter seemed to be the major name in this cemetery - it was named Slatter Cemetery. I don't know if this menat it was a family cemetery? Is that possible?

The name was on the gate entrance. This cemetery was on Lake Fork, which is a huge lake here in East Texas. Well, not on the lake, but lake view! It was a small cemetery, I ws hoping to see some statue's, but there were none. It was an interesting visit though - I've never gone to a cemetery just to take pictures before.

The small marker was there in place of a headstone due, most likely, to a lack of money for a proper headstone.
I was going to say the same thing as Heather about the marker. Or maybe he had no family to pay for one and that is what they use at that cemetery.
