What comprehensive climate change strategy -- if any-- should Congress pursue to address the problem of global warming?
1. Cap-and trade
2. Carbon tax
3. Rely upon voluntary CO2 reductions
4. I don't know
5. I do not believe there is a global warming problem; it's made up.

I don't think either is better informed/equipped then the other on this subject.
Both McCain and Obama acknowedge climate change as a problem that has to be addressed. However, Obama's greater emphasis on renewables indicates to me that he will be better suited to address climate change.
A NEW CONGRESS should immediately pass a ten year investment/production tax credit for renewable energy. That would go a long way toward addressing the climate change problem.
i dont honestly know the 2nd one......
I am a "cold" person, and I don't know why. Some doctor's call it the Wilson's Syndrome, which mainly affects those of Irish, Scottish, and Native American heritage. Well, I definitely have Irish and a LOT of Native American heritage on both maternal and paternal sides of my family. My temperature is rarely up to 98 degrees, and last week my blood pressure came in at 98/60, which isn't unusual for me, since I average 100/60, but that's extremely low for someone my age; still, my doctor has no complaints about it.
I said all of that to say this: I am cold much of the time. I'm surprised I didn't have the heat on this Summer, because I usually do. The last time I was in Alaska (2005), I was SHOCKED, just SHOCKED, that in Fairbanks -- yes, Fairbanks -- that I needed NOTHING on my arms. Usually, at that time of the year, I am triple-layered with clothing, wearing triple pairs of heavy socks, a heavy down jacket -- the works! But, this time I was wearing a tee shirt!
I kept saying to everyone: "There is something not right about this." The people/scientists up at the University, who study this knew: "Global warming" is what they said, and went on to speak of their facts and figures. Oh brother, these scientists who are closest to the North Pole, and study this stuff, but yet they "don't know". Okay, okay! But I cannot be convinced otherwise, when I'm able to run around in tee shirts, having been there before at the SAME TIME OF YEAR, and been so miserably cold that I thought I would die.
I shall definitely look at Carana's information. Thank you, Steve.
I am relieved that you have seeeeeeeeen the light, and now search out the information for yourself. I find it hard to trust anyone, when it comes to these things, because it seems as though everyone has an agenda; it's unfortunate, but true. My first question is always, "What's in this for you?" I've learned. Definitely never trust a politician until you are reasonable certain that he/she has your best interests at heart.
Palin's ties to oil and gas scare me. McCain's poor judgment and willingness to change his stands scares me more.
As far as the other, (calling those who believe it to be real members of a "cult"), congratulations, Jeff. You have just dissed some of the world's most distinguished and renowned scientists, as well as some of your own fellow Gatherers. You really didn't mean that, did you Jeff? That sounds really harsh -- COLD BLOODED, Jeff
Maybe you would like to re-think and re-word the comment???
As far as offending fellow gatherers I seem to do that regardless so I see no reason to split hairs on this issue as it is one of the biggest voting issues for me. Nobody seems to care that those world renowned scientists and the kooks that believe them offend me.
McCain is of the old club that just winked at the soiling of our earth and never did anything substantive about it.
I vote for Obama.
Take care
I'm glad to hear that there is such a thing as having a lower body syndrome. I've always been about 96 since I was a baby instead of 98 so if I go to the doctor sick, and it says 99, they don't think it's too big of a deal but it sure feels like it is. My blood pressure is pretty low, too. Pretty close to yours, but a little higher now that I am so stressed out all the time.
