How many times have you gotten a gift you didn’t want? Maybe it was a third toaster, a really bad and dated tie, or some crappy screwdriver set. Well, I’ve devised away to get through this that is much more forthright. It’s simple. All you need to do is create a list of the gifts that you want. You can update this list throughout the year whenever you come across something you like. Next, you share this list with your gift givers using some sort of open sourcing program. I like Google Docs because it’s easy and it keeps improving.
So, it’s easy. I write down whatever I’d like on this list. That may be a new bike helmet, my favorite new band on iTunes, a Crumpler or Baggallini bag, or one of these. The person giving me a gift knows they are giving me something I like, and I know I’m getting something I want. It’s a win win. If you can, I recommend setting this up for yourself and your family. You won’t regret it.
