Who Let The Children Play?

Who let the children play?

Your stock’s value went away!

The CEOs have had their day!

Start a stock market holiday?

Who’s to blame for all this mess?

Can we ever have redress?

We are all feeling the distress!

Can anyone take this stress?

Is anyone out there to blame?

Will the election bring just the same?

Can we start a new ball-game?

It’s become such a terrible shame.

Is anyone in government in charge?

Our dollar’s plight is just too large!

I want someone to take charge!

How about an economic recharge?

Are we letting the fox guard the hen house?

Our president just sits in the White House!

The banks have lost all their cash cows!

This situation should raise some eyebrows!

Boy, oh boy it’s been a horrible day!

Any economic fix seems a world away.

Our leaders have lead us astray!

Who let the children play?

We suffer cause they didn't think
they just let it all hang out
now as things fade quick as a blink
they hide when they hear a shout.

Not one soul accepts the blame
as they sail off with a million dollar purse
with not a bit of remorse or shame
just leave us with this financial curse.

nice poem, but the president is not to blame for this mess. This is private corporations that have gotten greedy and Congress failed to provide the oversight. That is not the job of the President. It is the job of the Legislative branch to provide oversight committees and such to watch over the banking and mortgage industry, not the executive branch. Blame your senators or congressmen, if you want to lay blame. That means laying blame on the Democratic party - since they are in charge of both houses.

Those who not only tolerate the partisan political system (party politics) and those too naive to see the sun rise in the morning but keep chanting "two legs bad, four legs good." Those are the ones who keep things the way they are and will be until they wake up.

Good post. There's plenty of blame to go around. Maybe, hopefully, most of the important players will learn a lesson--well, perhaps "players" is a poor choice of terms.
