Baby boy, I love you

You are such a tiny one

And you tried to sneak here early

Couldn't wait to come

You kept Mommy in bed for awhile

But I would do it again for you

For I love you little cherub

My heart knows that to be true

When I first saw you I was afraid

I thought that you might break

but I know you're getting stronger

And growing for my sake

When I hold you for just a little while

That is all they let me do

I smell the top of your sweet little head

And I know God Blessed we two

Soon you will be home with me, my baby

And I can just sit and watch you grow

Like a flower in the garden

Of love in the family you will know

There is daddy and big brother

They are waiting for you too

Anxious we are, all of us

To be lovingly watching over you

For God has given us a miracle

It could have gone another way

But he knew how much I loved you

He heard me as I prayed

You will get bigger and start walking

talking to beat the band

I will have to run after you

And grab you by the hand

Sometimes I might scold you

As you are running around

Remember it is because I love you

Don't want you falling down

You will play with your big brother

and be the best of friends

That's the way it is in families

With love mixed in the blends

I'm waiting very anxiously

For our lives together to begin

we have a new home for you

So we're all starting new again

I miss you when I leave you

After feeding you each day

But I know that it won't be long

Until you are home to stay

In the meantime as I kiss your tiny cheeks

And I hold you gently in my arms

As I succumb to your baby charms
