HELP - I hope someone can!!!

It happens to me off and on. I have to sign out and back in or go to someone else's page and then go back to the one I started. Have you tried that? Hope it helps! :)

Or try making a couple comments first. I have to goof around to figure out what helps.

Check to see if you are still logged on when this happens, sometimes when it bounces on me here for some reason it has automatically logged me off, probably because I was inactive for too many minutes. After I log back on everything is fine. So I would try just re-logging on to see if that helps.

I hear you! Another thing that is frustrating is when I have a bunch of things I'm doing and my darn laser mouse keeps freezing up and I have to restart my computer.

Trust me Rae-Rae, I'm not sure the world can even handle ONE of you - lol! Anyway, I told you about the same thing that everyone else has, but why listen to your little sister?! I hope that someone else here can give you a better solution, though. Debra is pretty good about helping people out and coming up with solutions, so I hope she will read this and be able to recommend something.

Your touch-pad could be set too sensitive. Try experimenting with the settings. (Odd behavior on mine involves the cursor jumping around in a document while I edit it, unless I hold my breath and lift my wrists.) :)

Is it some kind of pop up blocker in action? I don't know... just a guess.

i don't know, but it isn't fixed yet. maybe i'll just have to live with it. i will check the pop-up blocker, tho. thanks Sandi

I wish I could help, Rae, but with my deplorable computer knowlege I am doing pretty good at just turning on the computer! LOL

What kind of laptop do you have? Does it have any "hot buttons" that are in close proximity to your touchpad?

Example -- I am typing this on a Dell Vostro 1500. There is a set of controlling hot buttons accessible just over the lip of the laptop. Call it "fat wrist error" (a takeoff on "fat finger error"), I occassionally bump the button on the right side, which suspends network connections (this disconnects me from the internet). Funny thing, I generally bump it twice -- which then re-enables the network card and grabs the network address I had since the turnaround is so fast. The webpage "froze" during this time and, when it refreshes, it puts me back to my start page...which looks like your problem.

There are about half dozen other scenerios I can think of, so if you can post an answer to the questions above plus:

What operating system do you use? And it would help to know the Service Pack (click start, control panel, system, and look on the upper right quadrent).

What browser are you using?

What firewall and anti-virus are you using? Do you have an anti-spyware solution? An anti-phishing solution? If you are using IE7, is the phishing filter turned on or off?

Do you know what version of Java you are using?

Shoot a message to me when this info is posted, and I'll come back to it.
