If you're fascinated by the Bigfoot phenomenon, the 2008 Annual East Coast Bigfoot Conference is coming up September 26-28 in Jeannette, Pennsylvania. The last conference held in 2005 drew more than 500 people eager to learn the latest facts about the mysterious, hairy humanoids from the field's experts.
This year's event includes speakers as well as a tour of nearby Bigfoot stomping grounds.
According to host Eric Altman, the conference has at its goal educating and informing the public on sightings, investigations, and research into the Bigfoot phenomenon occurring in the Eastern United States. Sponsoring the event is the Pennsylvania Bigfoot Society, founded in 1988.
Meet the Experts
Among the guest speakers Saturday, September 27th, is Diane Stocking of Cutler Beach, Florida, an expert on south Florida sightings. A couple speakers coming in from Virginia are Billy Willard of Manassass, founder of Sasquatch Watch, and Tom L., Bigfoot investigator.
Also appearing is Bob Chance of Maryland while William Dranginis of Manassas, Virginia will discuss his EyeGotcha Digital Video Surveillance system. Eric Altman of Jeannette, Pennsylvania, director of the Pennsylvania Bigfoot Society and conference host, will discuss PBS investigations since 2005.
There will also be vendors tables and displays. A silent auction is also being held to help cover conference expenses and includes such items as an assortment autographed books and even Bigfoot plaster casts.
