Hi all

Hurricane Ike is bearing down on Texas, I hope all is ok. I went to check on MySpace to see if my nephew posted anything today. He lives in Texas and has moved around abit down there, so I am not sure where he is living at. I saw a post from him, dated yesterday..and I believe he is having a hurricane party or something like that. I just sent him a message to be careful.

To all of our Gather members( and citizens) in that region, may you be safe.

Now on Long Island it is overcast this morning and 69 degrees. Summer is over! I have a love-hate going on about this time of year. I love the fall, but it leads to the winter...which I hate! I love summer, I would be fine in all year summer.

Well it is off to Home Depot...he wants to look for more mirrors ...oh no...mirrors!

My sister lives in the suburbs of Houston, and I need to call her cell in a bit and see how she is doing. They say three million there are without power, some houses and businesses burned to the ground due to inaccessibility, and it will be 18 days until power is restored...

I hope she's okay. I hope that the miraculous happened, and most are safe and just a little wet...

Morning Donna! Summer isn't over in Illinois, we are expecting rain starting this afternoon, but it is really muggy and tropical today...strange, feels like early morning in Florida if you know what I mean!

I know there is a lot of damage but I hope everyone is safe. We are suppose to get the rain from Ike here in Illinois about Monday or Tuesday.

I just heard from my cousin who lives north of Houston. Their power was out for 8 hours but is back on. They are still experiencing high winds from Ike. My brother and sister-in-law moved from Houston in January to Oklahoma City. They still have their house in Houston. He has been in contact with his neighber there. It was early this morning and too dark to see if there was any damage.

I think the fall colors are pretty but I can not enjoy the fall for knowing winter is coming....so depressing!! :O( I too like you would be happy if it was summer all year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
