Requesting friends...delimma

Maybe delimma is too strong of a word but it is the only one I can think of at the moment, lol!

Anyway I have a request to make of my fellow Gather members....

Lately I have been requesting friendship for members I could have sworn I already had as freinds!

Now, I am not sure if they were and disconnected for whatever reason or we were  never connected in the first place and I am just remembering wrong.

I don't want to be  P.I.T.A and request friendship over & over to the same people because I realize the can be annoying! But honestly, sometimes I just can't remeber!

So my request is to you all is that if you disconnect from me for whatever reason, please let me know so I won't request friendship again and annoy you or make you feel like you have to accept because I asked again.

Don't worry about hurting my feelings if you disconnect, I'll understand. I know I make a lot of generic comments for my groups and I know some people don't like getting a bunch of the same thing over & over again on their "Content for me" feed.

I have noticed the same thing. People I thought I was already connected to asking to be my friend and I'm like, oh, sure but I thought we were already connected! :-)

There are a few people who seem to be attempting to collect as many friends as they can. They never leave a meaningful comment, and their posts are only designed to get points.

It may be a good reason that Gather stopped calling them "articles" and called them "posts" instead. It is a sad event for someone who is a writer....to have their well thought out article be classified as a post.

I don't have any issues with you.....but that explains why I have disconnected from some people. It's discouraging to write an article and get a comment that only says "ty." (thank you)

We're still connected. I have noticed that with some of my connections getting disconnected. They'll make a comment on something of mine and say "I thought we were connected" and I did, too. Then I wonder if they think I cut them off for some reason. It's rather embarrassing.

I've read that this has been happening to a lot of people for quite a while now. I don't know if it is Gather being rude and deleting things, or just people who don't wish to be connected to others.

I to have noticed that. But I haven't asked for reconnection. As I fear they may have disconnected themselves. Not sure if it was upgrade or me not seeing their stuff through the feeds to be able to comment back.

I have had that happen to me, too. I think that sometimes glitches happen in the upgrades and people are disconnected. I have gotten friend requests from people that I thought I was connected to and they thought the same, but we weren't so we just re-connected.

gather is good at deleting your friends for you, I lose people all the time they will ask why did you disconnect and I say i didnt. And here I was thinking they disconnected from me.
For me there does not have to be an upgrade i just shed people ever so ofter for no reason :(
