Hello everyone!
I hope as we near autumn and the kids are back in school, you are all well and safe.
This week I would like to tell you about a really cool way to save money on groceries. A few months ago my mom discovered an organization called Angel food Ministries. At first I thought it was a typical food bank where destitute people can go for food. Boy was I wrong.
Bio from their website:
Angel Food Ministries is a non-profit, non-denominational organization dedicated to providing grocery relief and financial support to communities throughout the United States. The program began in 1994 with 34 families in Monroe, Georgia (between Atlanta and Athens), and has grown to serve hundreds of thousands of families every month across 35 states. Angel Food Ministries crosses denominational lines and has spread the good news of the gospel of Christ through salvation tracts that are placed in each food order.
Blessings by the boxAngel Food is available in a quantity that can fit into a medium-sized box at $30 per unit. Each month's menu is different than the previous month and consists of both fresh and frozen items with an average retail value of approximately $60. Comparison shopping has been done across the country in various communities using a wide range of retail grocery stores and has resulted in the same food items costing from between $42 and $78.
Generally, one unit of food assists in feeding a family of four for about one week or a single senior citizen for almost a month. The food is all the same high quality one could purchase at a grocery store. There are no second-hand items, no damaged or out-dated goods, no dented cans without labels, no day-old breads and no produce that is almost too ripe.
Also offered are specialty boxes such as steaks, chicken and pork. Many participants in this bonus program appreciate the expanded choices. Additionally, there is no limit to the number of units or bonus foods an individual can receive, and there are no applications to complete or qualifications to which participants must adhere. Angel Food Ministries also participates in the U.S. Food Stamp program, using the Off-Line Food Stamp Voucher system.

MY mom has gotten these boxes of food for two months now and is greatly impressed with the quailty and savings. I am going to try them out next month. And will update you all!
Not only does this program help you it helps others as well....the more people that buy these boxes of food, the lower they can keep the costs for people who really can not afford food! So check out the web site and see if there is one near you!

For the price at the time it was well worth the price and some of the food was name brand others local markets but still worth the price.
:O)
I use it every month, and its truely beautiful!
I can fill up my freezer at a fraction of the cost in stores, the food is really good and the best part is... All of the steaks are in individually vacume seal packages... It makes "the man" cooking a whole lot easier!!!
And there is NO income Qualifer. Anyone can order.
Sorry I have been MIA, but I will not be around much this month :(

Only 2 weeks behind....stopping by to say HI anyway!

They are always taking orders either before We get our Paycheck or After our Paycheck has come in and all the money has been put towards bills and other areas.
I have been couponing and saving "Holiday Bucks" from one of the major chains. I am only one and it keeps me on my cancer diet. By the way, I often read you, and some of the many comments you so deserve, but my pc is on the blink and I borrow one, so my time online is limited. I try to get around. I can often read you, but cannot take the time to scroll down to leave a comment. Please do not think I have just not been around for your hard work. And as always, it is helpful. Have a great day, and I am glad I could stop by today. Ellen B
I do make it work though with healthy foods.
We do have a few agricultural, organic growers near me that distribute/sell discounted veggies, however. You simply sign up and pick up. One problem ~ the consumer does not know what will be in the box.
I'll share this link with friends that may have a site in their area. Thanks, Mandi. This is a wonderful program!
