Recently Biden made comments about how Hillary would have been a better choice for Vice-President or even President. Now this got me thinking about a comic book I used to read called, "What If?". It took popular comic stories and gave an alternative story if one critical thing had changed ie someone lived instead of sacrificing themselves.
And I started thinking What If Biden leaves the ticket. Would Obama offer the spot to Hillary? Would she accept it? And if she did accept it what would be the consequences of that move. Would her supporters that abandoned Obama come back? Would the choice have the same credibility if she had been selected from the start? Whould her joining of the ticket label her as a political stunt as some have labeled Palin or would she be welcomed with open arms?
Would Obama's postion be hurt if he was to back track and select Hillary to replace Biden? Would he be seen as just selecting to appeal to the 18 million Hillary votes? Would it be seen as someone who would select Hillary purely for political gain? Would he even be able to select her if for some reason Biden dropped or was dropped from the ticket?
So I'll ask you What If?

I think Biden was a good choice for VP. He's experienced in all of the areas that Obama is not, and he's not a back-seat driver, but a good advisor and a solid second in command. I think they can work well together. I question whether Hillary can work well with anybody.
I used to think that Bill was just a figurehead and Hillary was always the real brains during the Clinton administration. And it may be that Hillary desires nothing more than to be officially recognized for the presidential capabilities that she's always had but never been able to be fully known for.
Yes it would be a mistake. It would make Obama appear weak and desperate.
Even if Biden were struck by lightning tomorrow, it would be a mistake to put Hillary on the ticket.
Thanks everyone for commenting.
If he had had the foresight of choosing her originally that would have been a different situation.
I think it would give the impression he did it just because he was running scared.
