Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. said "Without justice, there can be no peace."
Have you seen any sort of justice done regarding the 9/11 attacks?
How and when?
Do you believe that justice is necessary to have peace?
I would like your input and opinions. I admit that this concept puzzles me. Sometimes justice is not done, so.....?

priority for the Shrub Admin.
Otherwise, why we would not have gone in full tilt to Afghanistan
to hunt down and Kill Bin Laden instead of the charade in Iraq?
Most Armed Services Personnel I have spoken with agree that we should be in A/stan NOT Iraq.
Which IS the stance that Obama has had all along.
Now the McSame camp has begun touting the same ideas.
5 years and 4,000 DEAD AMERICANS TOO LATE.
There has been almost NO Justice for the U.S. or
specifically the families of the victims of 9/11.
Know Justice, Know Peace.
I think there has always been too much focus on thinking that capturing Osama bin Laden will finally provide closure for everyone (escpecially the victims and family members of 9/11). Personally, I don't see how there ever really can be complete "closure." (Not in this life, anyway). To me, Osama is just a little piss-ant and he will soon meet his Maker like everybody else. But, too many people have thought than the U.S. could destroy the hive by simply killing the queen, but this is a very naive viewpoint, in my opinion.
As far as "justice" goes...there can never be real justice. Nearly 10,000 Americans have lost their lives from the actions of bin Laden and Al-Qaeda and nothing will ever bring them back. And I believe that only their loved ones meeting them again in the life still yet to come willl ever provide closure and finally give them "justice" once and for all.

everyone will answer that differently
Rene Allen has written a piece about that very thing

Peace, on the other hand is to sometimes accept the lack of justice in many cases. That acceptance comes from within and it becomes the basis of a countywide attitude that no more should die.
Our mantra, at some point in time, should be, NO MORE DEATH.
The fly in this ointment is polictics and money.
Justice and peace? Much depends on the person's interpretation of justice!
9/11 was such a tragedy ... our world is so full of hate and desires for revenge.
We have to find peach within.
A bevy of self serving lawyers as judges determine justice. We, as responsible human beings set the stage for peace. The best we can do is be just in our own lives and hope that our passion for peace prevails in spite of the courts.
Rest easy
I don't know the context of this quote, but I think Dr King was talking about peace among men and nations. But, I also think he would agree with the many of you who speak of inner peace. That peace can be enjoyed even by someone living in an unjust society.
As to 9-11, those evil doers got their victory. They were filled with hate and their actions have contributed to making the world a more hate filled place.
I believe Dr King would urge us find ways to build places of safety for children, woman, and old people rather than try to kill this one or that one.
That's all I have to say.
I have a strong belief that our president has taken a lot of undeserved abuse and blame because he cannot endanger national security by explaining dangerous information to the American people and the world. In future years, when much more is known, I believe George W. Bush will shine among presidents.
Also the truth about Kennedy, Lee Oswald Harvey was not the only bullet in Kennedy's body. That is another inside job. Wake up America.
Without justice there can be no peace. Some ideologies or mindsets think us Americans as weak and not willing to fight for what we believe in. Unrest at home only makes them more confident that eventually they will wear us down. They understand the financial and psychological impact they’re causing and are milking it to the bone.
When justice becomes just a word bantered about in discussion groups and not enforced in the real world, how then can we hope to survive as a people?
After 9/11 George Bush vowed that there would be no place for a terrorist to hide, but they did hide. To avoid an even bigger war with neighboring Middle East countries, we have attempted the diplomatic route with little or no satisfaction or resolution. If the United Nations did their rightful job from the beginning, I believe this would all be over now. If all the civilized nations of the world sent their armies into the Middle East and flushed out these terrorist once and for all, justice would have been served and a strong message would have been sent to any others who in the future might want to prey on the lawful and innocent.
In the case of 9/11, healing is the element of justice that will help bring peace.
Too often, we assume an arrest and trial bring justice. While these may be tools, IMHO they are not "justice" itself. If they become that, I would submit neither the necessary or acceptable result(s) was identified as "peace".
