You are right Lori and that is exactly what he is trying to do. McCain doesn't want people to know that he doesn't have a clue how to change anything and doesn't want to. So instead he starts all this slander.

Not to sound cynical, but even if he had called her a pig... I am sure she has been called worse. (Haven't we all?) If she can't take the heat, she needn't be seeking a public office of national proportions.

That said, I also loved the "Palin is the lipstick" explanation.

The lipstick comment is hardly new even to McCain. McCain used the same pig/lipstick metaphor when he criticized Hillary Clinton on health care. McCain was never accused of being sexist when he said those very words.

I don't think McCain was calling Hillary Clinton a pig anymore than Obama was calling Palin a pig. Obama used this metaphor when talking about McCain's spending. Just like McCain used it about Hillary's.
The difference is that no one made a big deal about it, when McCain used it. It shows you can spin anything in anyway you want it.

I don't think McCain was calling Hillary a pig, either, Nanina. I don't think Obama was calling Palin one either. I think it's a saying and a stupid situation which was blown out of proportion and if the Republican's hadn't been the ones calling "foul," no one else would have given it a thought. I know I did not.
