I don't think McCain was calling Hillary Clinton a pig anymore than Obama was calling Palin a pig. Obama used this metaphor when talking about McCain's spending. Just like McCain used it about Hillary's.
The difference is that no one made a big deal about it, when McCain used it. It shows you can spin anything in anyway you want it.
