If you are a webmaster who is building his own web site to increase presence of his business then beware because there are countless of trashy and ineffective tools being offered online, that supposed to help you improve your web site but in result they will drive you nowhere fast instead.
The tools you should avoid using
One of the most useless tools you can find online are those that claim to get your web site into the top 10 of all major search engines within a few days.
This is actually possible, however usually it requires using a paid SEO service, and sometimes unethical methods of optimization that will get you web site banned from search engines for good.
Another useless services are the ones offering paid search engines submissions. There is no need to pay someone big dollars to submit your web site to hundreds of search engines or whatsoever. You can easily do it yourself. Actually all you need to do is to submit your web site to the top major search engines such us: Google, MSN, Yahoo, and eventually a few smaller ones if you prefer and you want to get some more searching opportunities.
Sometimes these services offer frequent resubmission of your web site. Well you should also know it's not necessary or even not recommended. If your web site is queried too many times it might be consider spam.
Yet another useless tactic is the one provided by services that offer you a list of people who you can send your offer by email.
The bad thing here is that those people didn't request a participation in your list and they are probably not interested in your offer. Besides the lists like that are often built using unethical and spammy methods such us sending spiders to crawl the web sites and collect casual email addresses from all over the web. So beware that the most valuable subscribers are the ones who personally signed up to your list.
The link exchange software isn't what you need either. The software like that might more beneficial for the other webmasters exchanging the link with you but It could affect your Google PR or Alexa ranking. Besides quite often cheating takes a place here. You link to someone else's website while than person isn't linking to yours. So beware. The best way to obtain good quality links is to contact personally webmasters for a link exchange. It may take some time but will benefit you much more than automated software.
Useless Internet Practices
One of the most futile practice you should avoid is irrelevant and untargeted link or banners advertisements. Many companies will offer you guaranteed visitors for a small one time fee. Even if the price is affordable for you and attractive, you will get what you pay. That means your link will be placed on the places you would not like to see it, the places that irrelevant to you business. The visitors brought to your web site this way aren't targeted and they will not be interested in your offer. So basically using the services like that you put your money in trash.
Another useless practices are offered by directory submission services. You never know if your web site is submitted to the relevant category that will fit your web site theme. That's why always the best way is to submit your web site manually.
Well building your business you need to know how important your web site is because the Internet is the largest medium where you can reach customers the easiest and fastest way. However you should wisely spend your money on the strategies and tools that will really help you improve your online presence, avoiding useless trash that spreads over the web.
