I am borrowing my sister's internet to let everybody know what is happening and why I haven't been on Gather for a while. Two words--hurricane Gustav!
It's so crazy! Our pastor passed out prayed-over, anointed handkerchiefs for everybody to put in their houses and I got one for everybody in my family to put in their house while the storm was going on. Except I forgot to put one in my house!
I have holes in my roof. My electric pole is torn down. My internet line is torn down, even if I had electricity, I couldn't get online.
Everybody else's house is okay, of course!
Ah, well! I know that the anointed handkerchiefs have no power in themselves. It's a point-of-faith contact with someone else who believes God in agreement with you. So, I guess, I'm aggravated with myself, because I made a concious decision to believe God for everybody but myself. Lesson well learned, though.
So, it may be quite a while before I am back on Gather after this. Still, I will try the best I can to keep checking in.
Everybody, pray for me. I have MRE's and water and I have been getting ice. I also have a five-inch battery-operated fan that I bought on a whim a few months back. Seems like the best three dollars I ever spent, right now!
Thanks for your prayers, friends!
