Wow.. now this is a good way to start off my day! Some of you may remember that I talk about my middle son a lot here on Gather because school has been tough for him, he's the 'king of random' and because I've been really concerned about his behavior. You can check out those articles that are linked to get some history on the little dude but today I'm reporting some GOOD NEWS! My phone rang, I saw it was the school and immediately I thought 'Great, what did Alex do this time?'. I do feel really bad now for even thinking that but with the past that we've had, it's kind of hard not to. It was his school Principal and she told me that Alex is doing GREAT in school this year, he's attentive, staying on task, being nice and courteous to other people and his teacher and just an all-around great kid! What a great way to start off my day, you know? I am so proud of him for trying so hard but now I feel extra bad/guilty because we're hopefully moving into our very first home in just a few weeks and Alex will have to change schools! Ugh... this is just really bad timing. Alex is finally get the hang of school and now we have to uproot him and have him start all over? The Principal asked me if I had any concerns or wanted to talk about anything, so I took the chance to let her know that we might be moving and Alex will have to transfer to another school and thankfully, she really put my mind at ease! She actually used to teach at the school he'll be transferring to and she had really positive things to say about it. She said that the school is managed a LOT like his current school and she said she'd even call over there to get him into a teacher that would be the best fit for him. Wow, I feel so much better and I hope Alex will too! ~ Faith

Faith, I am sure that just made you smile!!!!
Keep it up, buddy! :)
I'm so glad she made your day, Faithy!
I kept doing a lot throughout the year and ended up with hundreds. It's so much easier to talk to parents when something bad does happen if you talk to them about something good first.
How is he doing with the thought of the move and changing schools? It sounds like, with the principal's help, either way will work to his advantage. Congratulations on the positive call Faith. Here's to many more like it ahead.... ; )
Sounds like his principal will be a strong advocate for him through the move.
I am glad to see that the school is going to work WITH you - often they fight you on eveyrthing if you happen to not agree with then and/or have a child with "issues" like my son had in school.
Organically Yours,
Diana
That must have been a great phone call to get!
Congrats on raising such a good boy. :)
I have had a similar school experience with my oldest son (now almost 20 yrs old)
Life is so tough on kids these days. I personally think after having 2 boys and 2 girls that the boys have it harder.
DO ME A FAVOR: PLEASE REWARD YOUR SON WITH SOMETHING SPECIAL TO LET HIM KNOW THAT YOU APPRECIATE HIM AND HIS GOOD BEHAVIOR.
MAKE A HUGE DEAL OF IT !!!!
you will do great this year!!!
