Do Your Animals Sleep In Your Bed?

My cat, Max, was hogging the bed all night last night!  He likes to sleep in between me and hubby and alternately knead (I call it 'making biscuits') one or the other throughout the night.  He's by far not a small cat...  I'd say he is at least 10-15 pounds!!  So, it's just like having another person in the bed!  My other cat, Ruby, is much more polite about sleeping on the bed with us.  She sleeps above my head on the pillow.  Sometimes while I'm sleeping I'll flop my arm above my head and feel something furry there.

Some people might think it's gross to share a bed with your pets, but I think it's great!  They keep me warm in the winter time.  They seek me out when it's bedtime and snuggle up for an all-night slumber.  Max even likes to get underneath the covers!  Sometimes my husband sleeps downstairs.  When he does, the cats always sleep with me.  But, if I wake up and the cats are gone, I know hubby is up and about downstairs!

My sister sleeps with her big half Australian Shepherd/half Husky every night, and he's about as big as an 8-year-old!  LOL!  My mom has a little 5-lb Yorkie named Joey, but she doesn't let him sleep on the bed.  He has to sleep in his "bedroom" (a little crate with baby blankets in it).

I have 5 pets, 4 cats and a dog. The bed is a privilege they all rotate through. First, Bella will get in with us and make bread (or biscuits as you say!), and then go and find her spot. Then Allie will come up and try to get under the covers, before she finally fines a place to lay. Finally our big Greyhound Datz will jump up, scaring the cats, and hog the entire queen sized bed! I love having my animals in bed with me. We got the dog 1.5 years ago, and my husband started working 2nd shift right after that, leaving me alone at night. The dog has helped me feel calm about being by myself each night. He's warm and likes to snuggle, and I feel totally safe with him laying next to me in bed! Not gross or weird at all as far as I am concerned! {{HUGS}} to you!

No. Since my husband passed away my daughter has been sleeping in the bed with me. Between me, her and her stuffed animals, there's no room for the dog. (There's barely room for me LOL)

Sometimes I allow the pets to sleep in my bed or the kids beds. But they do have a crate they sleep in as well. If it seems they have fleas..they sleepin the crate, if the need a bath, they sleep in the crate.

Jessica, I do, They all like to snuggle differently too lol. Bella likes the pillows, Allie would be under the covers with me if I let her (but she tickles me lol), and Datz lays down between hubby and me, then braces his legs against one of us and his back against the other and PUSHES until he is all stretched out and we are at the very edge of the bed! I still love it though lol, its so snuggly and warm!

awwwwwwwwwwww, pam! my kitties snuggle so sweetly, too! ruby likes to have her butt spanked for some odd reason, so she will sleep with her butt towards you instead of her head. ::rolls eyes:: lol!

No fleas here...Occasionally, Gator (Corgi) will sleep with us. But most of the time he sleeps with my daughter.

just say NO to fleas, nancy! lol! those little buggers are HORRIBLE! my cats only had them once in their life (and they are indoor kitties!!!), and it took forever to get rid of them!

Oh yeah, I so have to sleep with my dogs. They don't give us a choice!! LOL! We try to make them stay on the floor, because they are all at least 80 pounds. If one sleeps up there, they all have to, just like kids.

In the winter they jump up on the bed with us after we fall asleep, so me and my husband wake up in tiny cramped little balls, while the dogs are spread out at the bottom of the bed.

melissa, even with two cats that i'm sure are smaller than your dogs, i'm still all cramped up in the fetal position on the edge of the bed in the morning, while they are stretched out like lady godiva!

My chocolate lab (who thinks he is a lap dog - all 90 pounds of him) would try to get on the bed, but now that I found out that I am allergic to dogs, he is not allowed in my bedroom.

i have no pets (boo hoo hubby won't let me) but when we puppy sit my dtrs two mini dachsunds yes they do.. of course i'm not used to it nor are they used to me getting up every two hours to use the bathroom!!

I'd never be able to deal with something taking up my room. Plus our cat would try and bite your feet if you moved.

I have 9 spoiled fat cats in the house (trailer) at night, and about 6 of them try to sleep with me in my narrow bed. I have pain from arthritis at night so I move around a lot. When those heavy cats nail my covers down so I can't move, I boot all offenders right off the bed. One cat in the corner by my pillow is OK and one down by my feet works, but more than that can sleep in one of the many sleeping places I have prepared for them.
I wouldn't let my big dogs sleep with me even if they fit. They smell too doggy. I guess I should shampoo them more often.

Not anymore. My dog used to for years, but after her surgery I trained her to sleep on her doggy pillow. She could seriously injure herself with a jump off of the high bed. So it's for her own good.

Our cats sleep with us. They snuggle up SO close, or want to sleep right between my legs! Sometiems they like to sleep right on the pillow or on top of a face. Every night when I first lay down, Opal comes and lays right on my chest and purrs soooo loud. She's like a little scarf. And she always has to be blocking the TV no matter what.

My Siamese sleeps with us. She's currently decided that the bottom third of the bed(only on my side though) is hers. I sleep curled up anyway, so it doesn't really matter. Every once in a while I stretch out and punt her off the end of the bed though. She's a good sport about it though, she just gets back up on the bed and goes back to sleep.

Every once in a while, when it's really cold(and usually snowing), she will snuggle up between my boyfriend and I and put her head on the pillow.I find that so amusing and cute, but she only does it like 3-4 times a year, max.

You have it easy author. My dog, Shelby is half lab and chow. She weighs 67lbs and streches all four limbs, her snout and her tail as far as possible when I share the bed with her. She also is an early riser and when she wakes up at 4:00am she feels obliged to give me a "good Morning" kiss. But GOD how I love that dog!

I have 3 dogs. We have like to have them in bed with us,but there' s just not enough room!

They actually like to sleep under the bed, which I don't care for. I have this irrational fear the bed will fall down on top of them. But, dogs like things that are like a den to them. I think I might put boxes under the bed so they can't go there, though.
Our cats will visit us in bed, and sometimes sleep at the foot of the bed.
Lucky (our big dog) will sleep on our bed when we are not home & the bedroom door is open, Josie (our mini dachshund), can't even get up there, so she never sleeps up there.

My dogs always sleep with me.. which is difficult since I only have a twin bed, and 3 dogs, one of which is a great dane, all fight for a spot on the bed with me. They're nice enough to leave me a little corner of the bed to curl up in though, so it's all good. LOL

Little Zorro always sleeps in the bed with me. I do not allow Snowflake or Sandy in, they are too big and they shed like crazy. ZOrro is my baby though, and even though his crate is next to my bed, he whines like crazy if I dont let him cuddle.

The official rule at our house is no kitty in the bed because Dave is allergic. However, that rule gets broken nearly daily after Dave goes to work. Loki is my snuggle buddy and also likes getting under the covers in colder weather.

Your cats are cute Jessica. I do not think you are weird for sleeping with you animals. Our dogs sleep in our bedroom but not in the bed with us. Missy is an eighty pound Golden Retriever and she is too big to fit in our bed with us and Zoey sleeps in her crate. I don't like the hair in my bed and Missy has a lot of that too.

My last two cats did sleep with me (I did not have them at the same time). Both cats liked to plop down between my legs, and if I wanted to turn to one side, I had to bring one leg waaaaay up and then move it to the other side, cuz I didn't want to disturb the cat by shifting one leg underneath them! LOL My current cat has claws and when she wants you to get up she paws at you - and it hurts! She sleeps with my daughter, who uses a thick blanket at night to keep the scratches to a minimum. ;o)

My "animals" do sleep in my bed. My animals are my kids. My oldest son is the only one who doesn't sleep with us and that is because we said no- there is no more room! When we had kitties they also slept with us. If our dog came upstairs I am certain she would be under the covers with us too! I always wondered why people say yes to their pets but no to kids- not me! Whoever can fit is welcome anytime!
