A self-confessed cruise enthusiast, I was browsing the Internet the other day and came across a great on-line cruise news website called The Cruise. I live in the south of the UK and am particularly interested in cruises that depart from ports such as Southampton. A UK-based website such as this is just what I have been waiting for.
There are some fantastic features on The Cruise including an easy to use search box which accesses the well known UK based cruise holiday company, Cruise VIP. It is really good to find a site that gives you news on at least 20 of the top cruise lines in the world instead of just concentrating on the bigger ones such as P&O Cruises, Royal Caribbean and Cunard.
The pages are well laid out and the stories are both concise and a good read. The whole thing is capped-off by some magnificent images of cruise ships which are really good on the eye.
The news section seems to change daily and the stories are relevant and up-to-date. Yesterday for instance, there was a fascinating press release that had not long been issued by P&O. I could have course gone to the P&O website for this story, but why should I visit the website for each of the cruise lines when someone has done it for me?
The Cruise seems to be not only a marvelous way of keeping cruise enthusiasts like me informed on a daily basis, but is also a great one-stop-shop for booking cruise holidays. Keep up the good work!
As an afterthought, I checked out the hosting company of The Cruise, after all the website is so large they must have needed a lot of space to host it and it looks like all the companies mentioned on this page are hosted by the cheap web hosting website Hostasitehere, I love that name! Other interesting sites in the Hostasitehere directory include a Cheap Cruises website called Cruisegle who are now linked to Planet Cruise. Why do so many companies flock to the same hosting company is beyond me!
