Jess is my almost 18 year old. He hasn't had a easy life, I was told that I should have a abortion with him, because he wasnt "right" He would have downs if it was good, or born with no brain and maybe spina bifia, and would only live a few hours after birth.
I refused to have a abortion, and 2 OB dr's refused to treat me. I finally found a Dr. who would treat me, thought she agreed with them. Needless to say he survived the birth and then seemed normal. As it turns out he has/had a speech problem and he is dyslexic. He is so badly dylexic that he in 1st, 2nd, 3rd grade he wrote his spelling words backwards RAT = TAR and was marked right, he could spell it right, not write it right. He has struggled with school his whole school career, Hours and hours reading and rereading, us reading the text parts to him. ETC. Everyone thought he wouldnt succeed, HS drop out, vocation training. No HS diploma. Thank Goodness we never told him that!! This June he graduated HS. With a REGENTS DIPLOMA~ Not Bad for a kid that wasnt supposed to survive, or have a brain. I am really proud of him.
