Lori, I recall in 04' so many people said the same thing. "You can't change Presidents in the middle of the war - it signals weakness". Such crap. I think tossing that idiot and his gang of thugs out on their collective asses would have been the bravest thing we could have done. What a better way to show the world that America still works.

I never voted for either Bush. To me, it would have been like voting for a box of oatmeal. Same thing. And I won't vote for McCain/Satan -oops, Palin, either. I just can't do it. Normally I can see at least some good ideas on both sides of the line but not in the past two elections or in this one. It's crap. Everything they have been saying is fear based propoganda. It's elitist, wrongheaded and just plain creepy.

As far as fear mongering, shit, I lived through eight years of Zippy the Pinhead at the helm. You can't scare me.

I personally think that is the only reason why Bush won again. If we hadn't been in the middle of a war he wouldn't have had a chance in hell.

I sum it up in the convention dresses. The top two Republican women wore 40s style dresses (WW2 - war war war) and Mrs Obama wore 60s styles (the JFK optimism).

Bill Clinton attracted moderate Democrats, Jimmy Carter already was a moderate Democrat, and JFK was moderate in his own time. Obama, just like other more progressive candidates in the last few decades, have to sell a better product.

janet I see the lat 8 years with all the experience of Cheney and Rumsfeld and Powell, and Rice and Bush and yes McCain and that sends a shiver down my spine...because our once great country is on it's way down...because of such experience. I look at Obama and I see Hope.

I see an end to karl rove tactics that divide women against women and religion against religion and Americans who are gay straight rich and poor against each other.....i see an end to that.

Karl Rove is an experienced propagandist who understands fear as a motivator. If citizens didn't fear WMD, they wouldn't see the "need" to invade Iraq. If citizens don't support the phony war against terrorism a.k.a. the World-Wide war against terrorism, then terrorists will attack America. If the public doesn't fear the government seizing their firearms, they won't donate to the NRA and the NRA won't have 20,000,000.00 in PACs to give politicians. If citizens don't fear God and going to Hell, they won't go to church, tithe, or vote Republican. If the public didn't fear higher taxes from Democrats, they might vote for one, according to the biggest spending administration in history that's still adding trillions to the deficit. Ad nausea.

Togehter, Osama Bin Laden, and George W. Bush, have won. They have instillied fear, war, and bad economic policy to the pont of flushing our Country down the toilet. Let's see, Fannie/Freddie debt= 5.3 trillion, U.S. Treasury debt= 5.3 trillion. Added up it equals complete and total bankruptcy of the United States of America. When will you be told that we are insolvent? When they have to close the doors to the White house and all government agencies. I know you think this is a lttle farfetched, but so was going after Bin Laden by attacking Iraq.

I'm taking hope over fear.

I've got my kids (they're grown) reading "The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich". They've been following the Palin debacle (of course).

When I told all three about Morningstar Minstries they already knew. The information pipeline is working well. We need to burn cd's of the videos on YouTube and make printer copies of MSM articles and the alternative press.

Michael, I should have been a little more clear. McPain/Stalin in the White House terrifies me. I meant that right-wing scare tactics no longer scare me. I've watched this chimp in the White House for damn near eight years now. I seen him wipe his ass with the Constitution. I've seen his cabal of mean spirited pricks run amok on the American populace and sit there and grin for the cameras. I've watched a completely neutered Congress sit back and wring their hands and do nothing at all. Any talk of impeachment is immediately dismissed. We've sent kids to a totally f*cked up war for no reason poorly equipped to fight and die thousands of miles from home. The ones that come home either whole or in parts are given lousy care and piss-poor benefits. We've watched our economy go right in the toilet, our reputation world-wide slide from one of respect to one of derision. Americans are some of the most hated people on earth.

No sir, you can't scare me anymore. Now, I'm f*cking pissed and I want my country back. I want to see the Grand Lady restored to her glory and allow her the chance to be a world leader as opposed to a world whipping boy and prison bitch. This is what the past eight years have done.

I want my country back. I want Bush and Co. to be held accountable for their crimes through a full investigation into what they have brought to us. It's up to us to take this country back and hopefully nudge her back onto the right path.

I don't like republicans. But I read comments like Nick's and Ron B's and others and I wonder why to be afraid to elect Obama on the grounds that he is not a good war time candidate and equate that to fear mongering and ignoring the fact that democrats, every 4 years, tell seniors that republicans will take their social security away, women will be discriminated against, racism will roll back America to the 1950's, gays will be persecuted, etc, etc etc, is no different.

Democrats have used fear time and time again but you people have a religious belief in the apocalypse that will be if republicans are running the country. I don't have a religious belief in politicians. I can't stand any of them. But I think democrats are the opposite of my libertarian capitalist nature. I was born this way. I know that in this system I thrive. I was also raised Catholic and have since denounced religion in terms of my beliefs. So democrat guilt is not different that going to church. I seriously can't see any logic in voting for democrats even though I was born and raied to be one.

The GOP and McBush are running scared. The fear they are loosing their tight grip on the country. The new McBush ads tend to prove that. They distort and twist information in order to make people fear Obama. That is nothing new. That proves that McCain's words of being different from Bush are all just lies.

If I base my actions only on my fears, wouldn't that make me a coward?

Don't brave people face their fears and do what is right regardless of their fears?

Shouldn't change presidents during a time of war? Would that imply that we should give 43 four more years?

If that last were true, then the only thing any president would have to do to hold the office forever would be to keep us constantly embroiled in a war.

I think that we can be led astray by someone who is really charasmatic in their speech. Look at Hitler... I've heard he was a fabulous speaker. I'm not saying that Obama is Hitler, but I'm just saying we need to be careful and focus on his REAL message and not just a bunch of hype.

LOL!! Though I do not find Obama as appealing as I did at the beginning , I do find that he is a far better choice than the alternative, which is another four years of Bush. Yes, Bush. Despite McCain's attempt at distancing himself from Bush, his voting record which practically is a mirror image of the President's and his handlers’ agenda, tells the real story.

All politician use fear. We all know that if republicans get elected that seniors won't get their social security checks, blacks will be discriminated against, women's rights will be rolled back to the 1920's, the globe will warm, Christopher Reed and Micheal J. Fox won't be cured, etc...... I have hope. Nothing scares me into voting for McCain after his pick of Palin.
