From the Point of View of God is author Moshe Amarays' contribution to the search for o spiritual enlightenment. The goals of the book are to outline the path to oneness with God and to encourage people to turn away from duality. Duality is defined as the belief that humanity is separate from God. The ego also plays a major role in duality and is presented in this text in a manner similar to ego-focused ideology expressed in books concerning the gospel of Thomas.
The author writes briefly about his personal struggle with his belief in God during his lifetime. Amarays writes as the voice of God in this book, tackling fifty very human issues such as marriage, violence, and destiny in relation to spiritual growth.
On the issue of suffering, Amarays advises that "...it is your ego-mind-body that creates your own misery without you knowing it (71)." The author also applies the powerful force of ego to marriage, discouraging the formation of a union for the sole purpose of fulfilling emotional and physical needs. The book also challenges the following of organized religion as a means of connecting with God. "Religion creates separation, because it is a man-made duality; knowledge of Me brings the awareness of Oneness (40)."
Amarays' approach is creative and direct. Communicating his message by writing as the voice of God shows a deep commitment to his convictions. Amarays manages to share his beliefs without coming across as judgmental. The short chapters offer wisdom and a new way of thinking about spirituality in a compact package.
From the Point of View of God is a different take on spirituality that can be incorporated into an on-going journey to gain spiritual understanding.
